Escape Weddings Now at DISNEYLAND, CA

Great to see this site, Disappointed to see tho, that other than the cake, there is really nothing that is Disney led. It looks like a pretty regular wedding otherwise, its to bad.

I think Disneyland is desperate for some Wedding activity. I saw that post this morning but they've offically added the escape wedding two-three months ago, and from what I understood under the Disneyland fourms they were releasing information about it since like 2010. Overall I think it's an okay package since they take care of your food with a three course meal and the cake which seems to be some of the most expensive parts. The only real down side is you don't get any transporation like the carriages or cars.

Honestly, I think it's a pretty nice package. I noticed that it does not include any photography or transportation but you do get a higher guest count and a 3 course meal and cake. I don't think the transportation issue is that big of a thing to deal with since the DLR is so compact. Photography is a toss up for me; I really hate having my picture taken but it's our wedding day and I like the idea of being able to comparison shop. A more intangible benefit for me is that since my family lives in Northern California, they would easily be able to drive down. My sister and BIL take my nephews down every year for a few days so they already know they can find a decent hotel in their price range.

One thing I absolutely do not like at all is the six-month booking window. Wow, that feels like it's cutting things close! I'm told most brides send out "Save the Date" announcements anywhere from 12 to 9 months in advance of a destination wedding. Not being able to nail anything down until 6 months prior? Talk about stress-inducing! Not to mention lining up other vendors like your photographer, hair and make-up, an officiant....Also, what if you or someone in your party wants to use DVC points for the hotel stay during the wedding? Don't those have to be booked nearly a year prior? I would be much happier and more likely to book a DL wedding if they treated the booking window the same as for WDW - 8 months for Escape, with the ability to be "penciled in" at 12 months out. If Disneyland is really looking to expand the Escape wedding product in California, is there any chance at all of negotiating a booking window similar to the one used at Walt Disney World?

I completely agree with you about the six months out. My DF and I have chosen this package because it fits us better money wise and So far it has been nerve racking not yet even being able to call and nail down a date. I have family that lives in the Mid West and I hate not being able to tell them an exact date or even really knowing what I'm getting into. To my knowledge you can not book at all more then six months out, which I think it CRAZY I told my DF that at six months I'd be pulling my hair out trying to get everything started and going.

Disneyland has offered Escape weddings for a while, just not really advertised them. I talk about it a little bit at the beginning of my PJ because we wanted an Escape wedding until I learned about the 6 month booking limit. I'm a planner and the waiting would drive me crazy.
