Hi all,

We are planning an Escape wedding and were wondering how long each section lasts and what other wedding parties did afterwards?

We would like to have an evening meal at the California Grill - would this be something our co-ordinator could help organise or would we need to sort this out seperately?

We haven't spoken to anyone at Disney yet as we're still more than a year away :)

Our ceremony is early so we are going to lunch afterward's then after that going to the park's to have fun lol. Our cermony is at 10 lunch is at 12:55 so I'm asuming we will be done everything between like 2 and 3.

We are having an escape vow renewal (same as a wedding!) at 2.30pm then cake and photos and have a table books at the Cal Grill for 5.30pm. It should all run together very smoothly with about 30mins for a drink somewhere before dinner. We should be finished with dinner in time to watch wishes fireworks from the GF or Poly beach. The perfect end to a perfect day!

Our ceremony was "early" at 11 am...and it was just the two of us. We went back to our room afterwards, changed clothes, shared some of our cake with some CM's in the Boardwalk concierge lounge, and then walked over to MGM for a little while.

Later that evening, about 7:30 we went to CG for dinner. It worked out perfectly as we were able to watch Wishes just after our appetizers were served.

We've got the same timeline, but dinner is at Narcoossee's and afterwords we're doing a Wishes cruise on the Grand 1!

We had a ceremony at 2:30pm with Dinner at V&A at 5:30pm.

Thanks for all your responses :D Sounds like some lovely ideas!

Missy H - did you arrange your meal at the CG or was that done through your wedding co-ordinator?

disprincessatheart - same question as above, but for your Wishes cruise?

our wedding was at 2:30 and we had our dinner at 7:45 at O'hana's. We invited out guests to the polynesian for some drinks before dinner so we could all chat. By the time we were all seated in O'hana's were were just in time for Wishes fireworks. It was wonderful.

We arranged the dinner at Narcoossee's ourselves, but our planner would have done it if I hadn't booked my wedding late enough that I was already at 180 days before I was assigned to someone - I didn't want to take a chance on waiting. For the Grand 1 I had to call myself at 90 days out. It was easy even though I stressed about it forever. The only bad thing is there's only one yacht, but if I didn't get that I would have done pontoon boats instead.

We had our ceremony at 2:30, then the champagne toast and pictures. After we finished up, we took the limo back to Pop (where we got picked up and where our parents left their car), dropped off them so they could drive, then the limo drove to California Grill. We were supposed to start there at 6, but we were there a bit earlier than that (and they even started the hors d'oeuvres early, despite us only paying for an hour of them).

We had a private room, the Sonoma room I think, that we arranged through our wedding planner. We had an hour of apps (until 7) then started dinner. The fireworks were supposed to be at 9 (we wanted between entree and dessert) but they ended up moving them at the last minute (or at least that's when I found out about it), and so we watched them right before the entrees. Everyone loved the show, and the CG was amazing! They did lots of hors d'oeuvres (more than I think we should have gotten), and then the lady was constantly refilling drinks, she also watched the food when she learned one of our guests didn't like onions, and held back a course when our guests were filling out their guestbook pages and I asked her to wait. The food was amazing and the fireworks really did make it incredibly special. I'd really recommend it!

Thanks again :lovestruc

Supergirl - that's the kind of service that makes me want to go back to CG - they treated us so well last time we were there, and we were jut celebrating our 2 year anniversary of our first date!

Our ceremony was at 3 pm at SBP. We had dinner at Yachtsman Steakhouse at 5:30 pm. Our EM hooked me up with the manager at the restaurant and I took it from there. It was wonderful. Afterwards everyone went back to our garden suite at the BWI for a bit and then we turned in. Early up the next morning for our MK photo shoot.

Our ceremony is t 2:30 at SeaBreeze and we booked the private room at Victoria and Albert for a 5:30 dinner.

We did this ourselves. When you book the room, you can reserve it up to 1 year in advance.

We're planning on 1000 at Sea Breeze Point and lunch at the Grand Floridian Cafe or Kona Cafe at around 1300. We're then planning dinner at Le Cellier at around 1830 and then out for Illuminations.

In between the lunch and dinner we want to get some photos at Port Orleans as this is where we will be spending our honeymoon. After that we are going into Epcot until it is time for dinner.

We are having our Escape V/R at noon and lunch at 2:30 at the Portabello Yacht Club in Downtown Disney.

Then as our limo would turn back into a pumpkin before we are done eating ;), we will take the boat from DD back to our hotel at Port Orleans French Quarter.

Then at 8:00 that evening we are going to the Luau at the Polynesian and then to the extra magic hours at Disney's Hollywood Studios.:yay:

One thing we discovered, the options for lunch are limited as most of the nicer restaurants are only open for dinner, so keep that in mind.

Thanks again everyone :)

At the moment our plans are for a 5pm wedding at SBP, followed by extra photos with Randy Chapman at the Boardwalk, and finally on to the CG for dinner.

Does that sound OK timewise? I don't want to rush things, but I also don't want to be hanging around between the ceremony/cake cutting and the meal as my niece and nephews will be aged 18 months to 3 years!

We arranged it ourselves, just made an ADR as there is only the 4 of us, but we did make sure too tell them we would have just got married! :bride: :rolleyes1

Thansk so much for posting this question!!

For those of you that are doing a lunch or dinner after, what resteraunts did you consider before making your decision? Why did you choose one over another?

We are going to do our ceremony at either Sea Breeze Point or the Swan & Dolphin and I am trying to come up with an after lunch or dinner that would be close enough & fit my budget.

Does anyone have any suggestions for me? If we do Swan & Dolphin, how difficult would it be to get to Portpbello or Narcoosees? Can we take a ferry with all our guests?

We were almost maxed out for an escape wedding. Combine that with the fact that we were trying to do a lunch rather than a dinner. Combine that with trying to stay within a reasonable budget (i.e., renting a room with required minimums was going to be a stretch). Combine that with the fact that a lot of the places had menus that were going to be a little more.. "adventurous" than some of our guests would have appreciated.

And we decided we all kind of like down-home, casual kind of stuff anyway...

So, our wedding was 10:00 at the wedding pavilion, followed by the cake and champagne (actually, sparkling cider) reception at the Grand Floridian. We then had a bit of a break, because we wanted a couple of hours to take pictures around the park with our photographer, and gave the families the chance to go change clothes and get comfortable and make their way over to the Wilderness Lodge.

That's where we met at 2:00 at the Whispering Canyon Cafe for our wedding luncheon. We actually had them serve the dinner menu rather than the lunch menu, because we liked the selection a little better, but it was the skillet meal - all you can eat. Everyone loved it. There were ribs, barbeque chicken, pulled pork, corn on the cob, cornbread, and I forget what else.

Ok, I know that sounds like a disaster in the making for a white wedding dress. We planned ahead, and took aprons. And, as I said, gave everyone else the chance to change.

They set up tables off to one side and separated from the rest of the dining area for us, so it was like having our own room.

We had a great time, everyone was stuffed, and I can honestly say it was the best food I've EVER had at a wedding. Well, no, I've had as good one other time - but I bet they easily paid 3 or 4 times what we paid per person for it. ;)

Morning ceremony followed by lunch at Portobello Yacht Club. Back to the hotel for a relaxing afternoon swim. Then dinner at California Grill, followed by a Wishes fireworks cruise. I can't wait! :yay:

We also considered Wolfgang Puck's for lunch and Narcoossee's for dinner. Portobello won out because it seemed to have the nicer atmosphere. Narcoosee's would be equally as good for dinner...I'm still torn on that one!
