Escape to Neverland - A new Tagliarchy adventure!!

Hi guys,
Sorry I have been MIA again for ages, life is just hectic right now. Last weekend I went on my free VIP party trip to DLRP. But it was ruined as when I was checking into the hotel I got a text from my boss to say the inspectors had phoned again and were comning in today and tomorrow!! So I spent 5 hours in the hotel room doing school work. So today I had an inspector watching me again and they will be back tomorrow! The VIP trip was good though in that we were given $100 to spend per person and had a private party in the park after hours with a special firework display! And it was the start of the christmas season so the park looked stunning, especially the castle with all the twinkling lights on it.

Hopefully after the inspectors leave us tomorrow I will be able to get back to being a good tag friend!!

Hi everyone.

We have finally decided to bite the bullet and have both of our bathrooms remodeled. It is more than I want to spend - but I am so tired of 1962 blue and mint green bathrooms. Also the sinks have been rotting since we moved into the house 9 years ago. I never thought it would take this long to replace them. But the way they are mounted - we would damage the tile on the counter if we attempted to remove them. So if you are going to remove the tile... you should probably get a new vanity. Basically - repairing the sink would start a landslide of repairs we have not wanted to deal with until now.

We are having both bathrooms gutted - except for the floor tile (it was put in in 2004) and the bathtub in the main bathroom. Our contractor recommended refinishing due to the tub size and the fact it is in extremely good condition (if you like baby blue). I am a little nervous about the refinishing - but I am willing to give it a try.

If anyone has any personal experience with having a tub refinished - please share.

I'm having a hard time getting started this morning:surfweb:

Stephanie had her first basketball game yesterday, and I'm so sad I had to miss it. My mom said it was very exciting, and that Stephanie was great!!! She made 6 out of the 8 points, and her team won when she made the winning shot at the buzzer:cheer2: (they were tied until then). When my mom brought her back to my work, she was so red in the face, and bursting with excitement - I have never seen her like this. She was so so excited!!! Hopefully, I can see her play today.

I found out yesterday, when doing my online banking, that there was an unauthorized charge on my debit account for $222.22:eek: I called the bank, and they cancelled my card, and I need to go to the bank this morning to fill out some paperwork, then the bank will "try" to get my money back. They better do more than "try" - that's a lot of money!!!!!! I called the company that this $222.22 went to, and they weren't open when the charge was made - this whole this is very weird!!!!! Wish me luck, because I wanted to use only cash this holiday season, and losing this money is not a good thing:sad2: .

Well, I have to go jump in the shower - maybe that will help wake me up.
Have a good day today everyone!!!

Danauk: Hope to see you around more often then.

BlueBayou: Instead of having it refinished why not just get that Bathfitter done to it, they come and cover it up with many colors to choose from, makes it look like a new tub.

Slo: WAKE UP!!!!! Did that help? Hope you find out what happened to that money, bad time of year for that. And just for your safety no jumping in the shower.

:scared1: I hate that! My mom just had the same thing! Except there were several charges in Paris! Arghh identity theft makes me so mad :headache: The bank had better do more than TRY. Usually the card company will refund you the money. I'm sure you'll get it back for the holidays

I came onto neverland to be at home, I have found everyone in here seems to know each other pretty well so I think I should post a little about myself now so everyone kind of knows me, here goes:
My name is John, live on a dairy farm about 20 miles east of Buffalo, NY. I am a disabled veteran from the first Gulf War, I worked for the Postal Service up until January of this year when I was fired because of my disability, have not been able to find work because of it, my wife of almost 5 years is working 2 jobs, going for a 3rd for Christmas money and then going back to nursing school in January, I am in school now and get my bachelors degree in criminal justice in the spring finally. My wife wants me to stay home because I am better at being "mommy" with the house work, she hates it and I have always done the cooking and such any way. We have 4 kids, she has a 14 DS and 16 DD from previous and we had together a DD 5.5 and a DS 4 next month so I am quite busy. I also have 2 daughters out of state that I do not get to see because of ex-wife but they will be old enough soon and want to see me I hope. We love going to Disney, we go 2-3 times a year and put all extra money into it, we don't do movies or dinner or any extra stuff like that and we have 3 DVC contracts because of it. I'll stop this so you don't get bored but if there is anything you need to know about who you are dealing with don't be afraid to ask.

Thanks for the intro.. I guess we weren't being good hosts.. (sorry) actually withion a weeks time you feel right at home here.. we just chat and so jump right in..

BTW - Susan here - I have 2 kids - one a senior in high school ( applying to college that we can't aford) and the other a sophmore ( band and football) . I also own DVC and have owned OKW since 1993.. Yep I am OLD.. I am in Chicago area. I worked for SPSS for 8 years and left in April for a new job at a consulting company and it hasn't worked out well at all. Not a good fit, so i am expecting to be unemployed by the end of the year..

refinishing?? Is that the stuff when they spray it and make it a different color?? I have been leery about that and how long it would last.. tubs at home depot aren't all that expansive.. but the labor is.. We redid both the baths and gutted them and redid both from the studs up..

DanaUK just redid a bathroom. maybe she has some advice.

good luck share some pictures..

Hi everyone,
Is it only Thursday today, it really feels like a Friday!! Well we had our final day of inspection at work today. They will be back in 6 to 8 months and then again in a years time. In between we will no doubt have local council visits too! But for now at least we can relax a little.

Bluebayou We re did our bathroom in the summer. But we took all the fittings out and replaced the bath etc. It took longer to do than what we thought but I love it now, so relaxing!!

Yen sid I guess I haven't introduced myself either. I'm Karen and I live in England. I'm married but don't have kids (unless you count the 22 8 year olds I spend my day teaching!) We live on the edge of the countryside, but an hour away from London on the train. We love going to Disney too, this year I have been to Disneyland and Disneyland Paris 3 times (I don't usually go that often, it was a good year!) We love DVC too, but don't own any unfortunately. However our best friends do which is why we stay at the BCV when we go to WDW!! And as you might have guessed by my number of Disneyland Paris trips I love DLRP too!!

Well after a hard week at work I am having a realx this evening (just a shame we have to go to work tomorrow!!)

Hi John, and welcome!

I'm Jackie and I've been on the DIS for quite a few years. I work for a TV station in Arizona (for the last 29 years!), but was bred and born in the midwest. I've been 'doing' Disney for the past decade, so that's where most all of my discretionary income goes too. Latest craze....cruising with Mickey!

I've been on the Tagliarchy thread since 03 (I think) and we've had lots of folks come and go over the years. Some of the 'old timers' still pop in and say hello. One of them is even a moderator now over on the Gay & Lesbian board...HI RICK!

Just pop in whenever you can. We can always count on SLO to check in each day to keep us active.

.

I'm cheating on the intro---copied my post from the Podcast board:

I am currently living in NC. Met NC Beast 14 years 2 days ago (Veterans Day 1994 was our first date) while I was a student at UMBC. We went to WDW on our honeymoon in 96 which was my first time at WDW. I'm a big NASCAR fan (3rd generation). We have adopted 1 dog...6.5 year old lab mix girl...Jessie. Jessie loves to listen to podcasts, ABBA, and Disney music. Her favorite podcaster is Kevin because of his food reviews.
th_DSCF0005.jpg

Funniest moment on the last trip (okay one of the funniest): I was taking pictures at 50's Primetime...a lady from the next table shouted out "Food Porn!!!"

:cheer2: IT'S FRIDAY!!!!!!!:cheer2:

I just love knowing that I don't have to fight about bedtimes and getting Stephanie to do her homework for a couple of days :yay: I have to work tomorow, but not all day, so that's awesome too!!!!:woohoo: Yep....I love Fridays!!!!!!

I have to get out super early today and get Sophie to the vet by 7am. She is going for her 6 month operation today :cheer2: Even though she never leaves my sight, and I know she could never have a dog date with another dog, it's a relief to know that she won't be able to have puppies, and not go into heat. The thought of Stephanie starting her period soon is enough to make me do this:eek:  I don't need to worry about it with the dog too:sad2:

I've officially decided to put Christmas tree #1 up next weekend :santa: I just don't want to do both Christmas trees the weekend after Thanksgiving - that's alot of work. I'm excited to get the tree up, especially this tree. It's in the room that we are rarely in, so it's not in the way, and it just looks pretty:goodvibes When do you all put up your Christmas tree?

I had good news from the bank yesterday. They told me to not worry, and they'll take care of. By the time I sat down to eat my lunch, the charge was gone (I look at my account online everyday) and the money was back in my account. I have a great bank!!!!!:thumbsup2

Danauk - How did everything go with the inspector? Do they give you a full report?

BB - Good luck with the bathrooms:wizard:

Yen Sid - Thanks for the intro!!!!:goodvibes
**This is about me.......
My name is Sandy, and I live in Indiana (Chicagoland area).
I've been on the DIS since Feb 2004, and I don't know how long I've been with the Tagliarchy - maybe 3 years:confused:
I've been married to my highschool sweetheart (Kevin) for 13 years, and we have 2 DD's - STephanie 10, and Katie 5.
I have been a picture framer for over 20 years, and in 2007 I decided to open my own custom picture frame store. I opened that June 2007, and I'm still in business today.
My DH is a manufacturing engineer by career, and when he's home he's a Lieutenant and EMT on our volunteer fire dept, plus he belongs to several town commissions - he's a busy guy, and we don't see him much :guilty:

ibounce - I love checking in and seeing you guys everyday!!!!:grouphug:

everyone else - :wave2:

Well, I guess I should get going and get ready to go
Have a great day today everyone!!!

NC Belle: Huge Nascar fan myself, who is your favorite? Mine is and always has been Jeff Burton since his rookie year.

Slo: So glad they put that money back, especially so quickly so you do not have to worry.

Danauk: If you want a child we have 4 you could pick from, LOL.

Nice meeting everyone else too, I just thought it would be better if you knew who I was since everyone else in here seems to know each other so well; despite health issues from time to time I expect to be here for awhile now that I have found you. Hope everyone has a good day.

Morning.. nice to see everyone check in.. CMOM is cruising.. hope she is having a good time.. and WallyB is getting ready for his cruise.. aren't we a cruising bunch..

Eric is going with the band to Hawaii this spring break. We went to a meeting on it.. seems like a lot of fun..snorkeling, cruises, beach days, luaus dances.. and they will play a few times too.. LOL..

now what to do with Geoff for that week??? I offered WDW but he is unsure.. UNSURE??? Well, i can go by myself in October for Food and Wine.. so that is okay.. but I do have 9 use it or lose it points that expire 3/31..

DanaUK - I'm glad the inspectors are over for a while.. It does seem to me to be way to much.. maybe you could move to the USA.. we never have inspectors in our classrooms..

Spread the Hanukkah love around! Yup, i'm a convert  I fell in love with Judaism years ago and studied a lot with a Rabbi. I love my synagogue, they've been so good to me  It's awesome to know there are other Jews on here! :thumbsup2 So I have the interesting situation of celebrating all the Jewish holidays while family celebrates the Christian ones

I want to hear this! :)

Hi all - I was home sick today with a touch of a tummy bug. But I am doing much better. Taking a 4 hour nap helped.

Believe it our not my DH has said he wants to do to WDW - maybe for spring break. He was considering next fall break - but then we got a nice code in our email. (1,300 magic your way for value for 7 nights). So we are looking into it.

My short intro - I am Texas born Delaware raised. Married to a sweet guy and we have DD8 and DD5. I know ibouncetoo in the real world.

:surfweb:

I'm up so much earlier on a Saturday than I would want to be:rolleyes: . I'm waiting for the Ice Mountain man to come and switch my water cooler, because mine doesn't work properly (the hot water spicket isn't working, and I use this alot). The times he may come is anytime between 7am - 12pm, so here I am, up, dressed, and wishing I could still be in bed. I can understand that they can't commit to an exact time, but I wish they didn't have to give me 5 hour window - why not a 2 hour window? :confused3 Oh well, nothing I can do about it, so I"ll sit here and wait.

Is anyone doing anything interesting this weekend?
We aren't doing anything special, but that's okay. Today I have alot of running around to do, and go to work for awhile. Tonight, I may rent a movie. Tomorrow, I may go to the mall to find Stephanie's Christmas dress, because the girls get their Christmas pictures taken the Sunday after Thanksgiving, and that's not to far away:eek: But we'll see what happens, because Kevin is painting Katie's room, and we'll need to put that back together.

YenSid - My DH is a massive Indy Car fan and a big NASCAR fan too. Have you gone to any races? Kevin goes to The Indy 500 every year, and many other races. He went to Daytona last year, but won't be returning this year (can't get the time off work).

geffric - I would love to go to WDW alone:) I know I would miss the family, especially my girls, but I would do so many things I would never care to do with the family, because I know the girls would get bored (like go through the World Showcase very very slowly, and seeing shows, and really going through each of the countries). I know you've gone alone before, and how did you feel? Were you lonely, or did you really enjoy yourself?

ibounce - :wave2:

SeeWhat - Good for you, for pursuing your religious ambitions!!! I converted from Lutheran to Catholic before I got married, and my dad wasn't happy (and those religions are pretty closely related). How were your parents when you converted? Were they supportive or against what you were doing?

BB - I"m sorry you aren't feeling well today :guilty: I hope you feel better soon:wizard:

Well, I gotta run and check my other threads
Have a great Saturday everyone!!!
