I just got engaged and my fiance and I are thinking about getting married at Disney when his family goes there for Thanksgiving this year, only 7 months! I have a handful of questions that I haven't stumbled on answers to. I am looking at minimum of 11 with 2 kids under 2. I'm hoping a few friends will come, bringing that total closer to the 20 mark.

How strict are they with the count? I see a couple of the locations have a 10 person max, I'd love to have my wedding at Sunset Pointe but it seems I can't if I have 15?

On the topic of locations, are those the only places I can have my ceremony? I can't get married, say under the giant Mickey phone at Pop Century?

Do you get a CD with rights with the basic photography that comes with the package? Can guests also take photo and video?

What's the difference between having a small dinner in a private dining room at a restaurant or just regular dining ressies? Is there a difference in service? I saw some examples of rooms and restaurants at mouseweddings.com, does anyone have examples of others they have experience with?

Am I crazy for wanting to get married at Thanksgiving? Is it busy then?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi Missy,

First off I would recommend you check out Carrie's book - http://www.passporterstore.com/store/1587710781.aspx It's really a valuable resource for all things Disney Wedding!

I'll try to answer a few questions..

-They are super strict with the count. If you go over 10, you're off of Sunset Point. If you go over 18, you're a Wishes Bride.

- I would ask about the Mickey Phone - you never know if they'll be able to! They've done locations that weren't on the list before.

- Yes, guests can take photos and video.

- Thanksgiving? I think that's the beginning of the peak season and might be busy - anyone have any thoughts?

That's all I have for you! :goodvibes

You can not have more then 8 guests at Sunset Pointe due to space

For Escape weddings the list on the website is pretty much it.

You can buy the cd, but you only get a license to the photos, Disney still owns the rights to them

You can rent a reception location. There isn't a difference as you can book it threw FTW.

It is busy, but it's all decorated for Christmas, and is really pretty.
Thanks in advance for your help!

I hope that helps some.

Well Meg pretty much covered almost everything.

I know that they do offer a DVD with all of the rights to the pictures for an additional fee (I think its close to 450- but I cant remember exactly). But a lot of people chose to use outside photography.

As far as Thanksgiving- I have been down there that week and I can's say it seemed much busier than the summer time rush. (Except when you do seasonal activities, you can expect a crowd at those).

Lots of couples use restaurants for their receptions, but if you are inside one of the parks, you can't wear your wedding dress. So, many brides decide to either use restaurants from the hotels. For me- regular restaurants weren't available for a big reservation at 2 (the end of a meal service), when my reception would be so I was given the choice between the Attic or the St. James room at Boardwalk Convention Center.

Hope this helps

Thanksgiving is the busiest time of year in park attendance. It is actually worse than Christmas. So if you do get married around that time, pay attention to the "time" you do things around. Congrats!

They are not flexible with locations for an Escape, I tried :( but with Wishes they are willing to work with you a bit.

They are VERY strict with guest count.

I'd avoid Thanksgiving if you can! The firt ocuple of weeks fo December are nice!
