Escape Photography Question

I read something at some point about subbing a honeymoon shoot in for the photography package, if you wanted to do an outside vendor.

Am I crazy? Or is this true? Because we'd rather have an outside vendor do the photography.

For the past year or so (maybe a little longer) Disney has been allowing Escape Brides to "substitute" the Honeymoon photo shoot in the package if they choose to use an outside photographer.

I can't remember what all is included in the Honeymoon Photo Shoot, but I think it's something like an hour or two in one of the parks. And I really don't remember how many pics you get.

I'm sure someone else has more details, or you can ask your coordinator.

Yes, you can swap for a honeymoon shoot in the Magic Kingdom, but Disney now only gives you two 5x7 photos (in a folio) with the package. :scared1: If you want more than that, you have to buy them. Still, I wouldn't let that deter me from hiring an outside photographer for my wedding...:cutie:

If you want to do your shoot in any other park, there is a fee of $50.

4x5 = $12
4x6 = $13
5x7 = $20
8x10 = $30
11x14 = $55
16x20 = $85
20x24 = $115
30x40= $250

:thumbsup2

Be sure to ask your planner. We were not charged anything for using Epcot as our location instead of the MK. It stinks that you now only get 2 5x7s, however, if you are doing any other photography w/ Disney and buy the CD (which is outrageously priced, but only $100 if you wait 3 years) you will have all of the pictures from Disney (MK photo shoot, honeymoon... any other pics you do with Disney Photographic Services) on that CD.

This is a good idea! One thing, though - they raised the after-three-years price to $350 for Escape brides and $500 for Wishes brides... :sad2:

Rather than inducing people to buy the disc for $1,000 right away, I think it's driving them to outside vendors for all their photography...

We're using Randy Chapman for our photography and scheduled a family photo shoot with a Disney photographer for the day before. It's going to be in the rose garden at Magic Kingdom, so it's not like the traditional "Magic Kingdom shoot" in front of the castle. But I think it will work out well and a lot less expensive than using Disney photography to get all the frame-size enlargements we want to get.

We are doing the same thing but a few days after our VR! I was a bit concerned as I had heard that the honeymoon shot was only allowed to be the bride and groom but Rosie said it was fine to include my girls too!

Another point of interest for UK brides, you get a high res disk with all your shots as well as the 2 prints!
