Hi everyone. I have a new dilemna. My consultant called and said they had to have a lottery for my date and time. I got my date but the wrong time. I got 230 pm. We were hoping to get 10 am or 12 pm for the lower Wishes minimum. With the 230 slot we have to meet the 15000. mininum which takes us way over our budget. My husband say ask if we can change to a Escape or change the date. If we change to Escape, my husband is willing to have less people at the ceremony. Both ideas will work for me.

But my first question is how long is the cake and champage reception Escape brides get if you add characters? The reason I ask this is I am willilng to keep that time slot and go with a restaurant meal if we can still have the characters at the cake and champagne reception. I need to waste some time in between the ceremony and the dinner time at the restaurant.

My next question is-Is Morrocco the only location for the DP for Escape Brides? It is ok for me since it will go with my theme but I just wanted to know if I had other options.

TIA

The reception is usually about 20-30 minutes when there are characters. I don't think they officially extend it from the usual 15-20 minutes, it just ends up being that long.

Escape brides have been able to hold their dessert parties in other locations, but it just depends on what's available. It seems to be Morocco more often than not.

I am an Escape wedding Bride and we were married at SBP in 9/09. Our original plan was to go to the Coral Reef but would have to change before we walked through the park in our wedding attire. I was fine with that. Another option outside the parks is at The Wave in The Contemporary!! It was AMAZING. Our servers name was Michelle and I can't say enough about her!!! Just an option. Another thing I wanted to add is we were married at 10am and it was perfect. Not to hot!! I saw a bride walking down The Boardwalk the next day for one of the 12 or 2 weddings and she way dying. Sweating and curls falling. That was the moment when I was so thankful we decided to have a morning ceremony.

Do you have a particular restaurant in mind for your reception? Because you could do something a little different if you dont. I got married at SBP, and I was hoping to have my reception at Yachtsman or something like that, but was told it would be unlikely because my wedding time would put us too late in the lunch service. My planner suggested a room in Boardwalk convention center. It was perfect for us- we had one large roman style table, the food was AMAZING, and I ended up paying a lot less than I would have.

Here are some pictures so you can get a feel for what it was like. http://stephaniejackson.shutterfly.com/reception/4

Forgot to mention- we then held everything inside (cake cutting, toasts...). We originally did it bc DH's father isn't in the best of health and we didnt want him sitting in the sun, but we were really glad that we did, because there were record high temperatures this October and were all melting. I would hate to think what my cake would have looked like.

Wish on a Star, I just wanted to say your pictures were lovely! They did a great job decorating that room for you guys...it looked sunny and pretty, and the perfect size.

Wish on a star, I just can't get over how cute your little bobblehead characters are! It was a great idea and so personalized! Your reception dinner was lovely. I'm thinking of doing something similar with a dinner reception/cake cutting after my ceremony. I'm having dreams that my cake will melt in the sun and fondant will be everywhere. Oh the horror! lol

Your pics are cute. I showed my husband your bobbleheads, he thinks they are funny. We have decided to change our theme, (again). The theme now will work with any location. I wanted A restaurant to decrease decorating costs. Thanks for your suggestion.

Will you get to keep the 2:30 time slot if you switch to an escape package? That would be my concern because the time for contracting is different between the two.

I do not know. I am waiting on a reply from my consultant. It seems I my have gotten that slot because I am a Wishes wedding instead of an escape.I know the person who got the 1200 slot was an Escape bride. I am not sure how they do the lottery system. I am ok with the time slot it is the minimum that is the problem. I will have to find something to add or drop one of my outside vendors and use Disney. I do not know if I want to do that.
