Escape or Wishes? Help please!

Hi everyone,

I want to do a vow renewal for our 10th anniversary next fall. DH is very willing to go along. Our actual anniversary is October 12th, but we are booked on back to back Disney cruises, so we plan on doing the VR on Veteran's Day weekend 2012. I would prefer Saturday, so people have some travel time (holiday is on Monday) and we have 2 school-age flower girls, who we don't want to miss any more time than they have to. They are actually our best friend's daughters, so the fact that they are letting them miss school is wonderful enough on their part.

We have looked at the absolute must have guest list and we have less than 20, so size is not the concern. I just want to make sure that I make the best decision for our situation. After reading all the fabulous pj's I thought I would get some good and honest advice here.

What we would like to do is have the ceremony at SBP (mid/late afternoon, but flexible), definitely want Donald and Daisy to show up for the cake cutting, either dinner at The Yachtsman with an EPCOT dessert party afterwards or both the reception and dessert party at EPCOT. Looking at the cakes, we already know that we want to upgrade the cake and will probably have extra floral. I am fairly certain that we would meet whatever the Wishes minimums would be, but just not sure what's right for us.

What do the experts think?

Hi there! We are actually planning on getting married that time as well. I just wanted to make sure you know that the Wishes wedding minimums for Saturdays in 2012 have increased to a $20,000 minimum expenditure. For your guest count, I think you can stay WAY below that by doing an escape wedding with a dinner at Yachtsman and a dessert party that evening. The Escape minimum would then be bumped to $7,500.
