Have you guys heard about this independent horror movie called Escape from Tomorrow that was filmed without authorization in Disney World? It comes out this October. Sounds really odd, but I'm intrigued.

They talked about it on the disunplugged podcast last week. They were discussing possibly having a lawyer come on to discuss the legality of it.

I think the release date is scheduled for October 2014.

I figure if Disney was going to sue them or get an injunction to bar the release it would have happened already. But I guess you never know.......

The release date is October 11 of this year according to the LA Times. It will be a limited release with simultaneous video on demand. I have nothing to do with the film, by the way, but I think this is fascinating.

It'll be fun to try to catch familiar Disney sights during the movie. Plus the idea of a spooky movie at WDW is so different.

Shot in the dark, but I'd imagine that the movie was shot in less popular areas. PeopleMover, Carousel of Progress, etc. I wouldn't expect to see too much of the big Disney headliner attractions.
