Error mergin a reservation

Something very weird has happened to me. I had 3 consecutive reservations for Kidani standard view and I sent an email requesting to merge them.
I first received the scary "your reservation has been cancelled" emails that always make me skip a heartbeat before I realize they are for the merge. Then the email confirming the reservation... for a savannah view!
So I went to the DVC website, opened the chat and prepared myself for a long struggle to have the right reservation reinstated (standard rooms were not available for my dates). Instead, after a few minutes the reservation was changed to standard without much effort from my side than just asking.
So thanks to MS for fixing this so promptly and a warning to always double check after a reservation is merged.

Glad you caught it!! That has never happened for all the merges I have had to do but a good reminder to always check!

Sooo I didn't get any confirmation emails but I asked MS to merge my 2 Jambo reservations together, and somehow I ended up at Kidani.... Only discovered by checking my dashboard.

I'm on hold with them now as they are trying to get Jambo back but I am not confident and super disappointed.

Ok 20 minutes on hold later they were able to get it back to Jambo *phew*

I guess just make sure you are checking your reservations at AKL when asking to merge.

AKV has issues w/ the whole Jambo/Kidani which view villa assignment thing - the DVC website still doesn’t list Jambo as an option for me on the initial home resort search screen, because my contracts there are both deeded at Kidani .
When it comes to assigning villas, once when I stayed there in a cash 1 br. savanna view they put me in a standard view, I complained & they conceded the error, but had no savanna view to move me to, so refunded the price difference between the views. Another Jambo DVC stay in a 1 br., when I landed I had 3 room ready texts - the first was for the 1 br. in Jambo I’d booked, the second switched it to a studio at Kidani , the third switched it back to a 1 br. at Jambo albeit a different 1 br. than they’d initially given me. I wouldn’t be surprised if one of these days I do end up in Kidani even though I’ve booked Jambo because there really aren’t very many Jambo villas & Kidani has so many.

Agreed theres a lot of confusion there I just didn't think merging two existing reservations would be another way they are confused.

In the end of they couldn't switch it back it wouldn't be the end of the world but I did spend a lot of time stalking these particular reservations that would have been for naught.
