Erosion at Lookout Cay Cabanas

We had Cabana 20 shortly after sailings began to Lookout and it was all rocks and we were not allowed to use the beach in front of the cabana. I remember complaining at the time and the concierge staff said they understood and that everyone complains. No refund though. Complained on the internet and got a lot of "any cabana is a good cabana" cheerleading. I guess now that it is half the cabanas instead of a few, people are taking it more seriously.

But really, why would anyone want to pay $1,000+ to not have a beach chair and have to walk down a concrete road to get to the beach, when they could pay $0 and have a spot directly on the beach with a beach chair at the regular Lookout Cay family beach for free? If I just wanted a shaded place to look at the water, I could stay on the ship and sit at my verandah. Private islands are about the beach.

Disney really screwed up on this one. They should never have used this stretch of the beach for cabanas when the other side of the island has an enormous stretch of beautiful beach.

I looked at the cabanas when I was leaving the island yesterday. It looked like only a couple had just rocks in front and the rest were restocked with sand. That area is severely lacking in anything to do besides lounge in the cabana. There's a stand where you can buy a couple things and one place where you can buy canned drinks. Are people having to take the tram to the main area to eat? It seems like that would blow out a minimum of an hour of the cabana time. If they aren't offering around the clock private transportation back and forth to the main area, they need to start doing so.

I thought the same thing. How are the people in those first family cabanas getting food and drinks? And going to the water slide area, or shopping for souvenirs or watching the cultural shows? They would have to take the tram back and forth for other activities. Made me glad we never wanted to book one. The adult only cabanas are another story - they might get me to part with $1000 once we become Pearl.
