Day 5, Wednesday August 29th

The plan for today was to hit Sea World this afternoon and evening, and hang out this morning. We never made it to Sea World on our last trip, so we were determined to make it this time. Dh and ds took the bus to the MK, then a boat to the GF to rent a Water Sprite. My son just loves this. Dd didn't want to do that, so we took the car to the Marketplace, where they would meet us later. Finally some good shopping!!! We bought several things for her room at Disney at Home. Her room is going to be Princess themed. We bought a couple of things at the Christmas shop, then filled a basket at the World of Disney. I actually found an Ariel shirt for me, I have never found one of these before. At WOD they were kind enough to ship all my stuff together, even thought it didn't all come from one store. Of course, as I type this, it hasn't arrived yet, but I'm sure it's coming soon. I want my stuff! I got a call on the radio from dh, they were finally on a bus on their way to meet us. I tell him I'll go order some pizza's at Wolfgang Puck's express, and they can meet us there. When they arrive we have our first and only mild meltdowns of the trip. Ds wanted to look around before eating. He thought we wouldn't have time. Dd didn't like anything they had to eat at Pucks. I ate her Macaroni, YUMMY!!!!!!!! This was a very brief meltdown, and if that is the worst we see, we are in great shape. They head to the Lego store, and my son, who has a ton of Disney dollars, goes to Disney and spends all his money on Lego's LOL. Oh well, whatever makes him happy. On our last trip, dd spent all her money on a ton of beanies! So many we barely got them home. So far all she has bought is a couple of pins. I had to go pay for my stuff at World of Disney, so they played at the Lego place while I did that. At this point, they were both very hot, and bordering on cranky, so once again, Sea World is scrapped from our trip. We decide our best move is to go back to the pool. Amazingly enough, it didn't even bother me, since I absolutely go nuts for whales and dolphins. The pool was definitely the right move for the afternoon. For dinner, we wanted something different, so we decided to try Tubbi's at the Dolphin. Wow, what a winding trip through the hallways to find this place. We were not terribly impressed. I had chicken noodle soup, because I wanted a beaver tail later at Epcot (yet something else I missed last time). It was good soup, but dh and the kids had sandwiches that were only OK. They liked the bag of Frito's though LOL. What was amazing was it was 6 pm and there were 2 other people in the whole place! It was kinda spooky it was so empty. The whole place was empty, we didn't see any people anywhere. We hopped a boat at the Dolphin for Epcot. I got off at the YC to grab the stroller from our room, as we were bringing the tri-pod to take some pics of Illuminations. Even with going up to the room and stuff, I arrived at Epcot just as they were getting off the boat. We grabbed a perfect spot between America and Italy, and prepared to wait for the parade and Illuminations. I took someone to the bathroom and when I came back dh pointed out that the shoe that connects the camera to the tri-pod had been left at the hotel. Argh, that was our main reason for sitting here so long. Dh took off and went back to the hotel and got it. He missed the TON parade, which I just love. I could not believe there were no crowds watching it. Most people just walked on by. I teared up 3 different times during that parade, it just gets me, I'm such a wimp LOL. It was interaction with the kids that got me. Shortly after the parade, dh returned with the piece for the tri-pod. He also came back with a funnel cake!! Of course I couldn't eat it myself, because I was busy setting up the camera with the tri-pod and the cable release switch, so he had to break pieces off for me LOL. People started to crowd in a little as it was closing in on 9, but still very uncrowded for Illuminations. We took our pictures and enjoyed the show again, then packed up and headed back to the hotel for bed.

It must have been nice seeing Illuminations without a big crowd. I've never been that lucky. :) Sounds like another great day!

good for you for going with the flow - we really enjoyed TON - I am bummed that it isn't happening next week when we are there. I hope the crowds are light then too!
