TK 22-(best friend of oldest DS-and his b'day trip too)-2nd trip
We had been planning this trip since the hurricanes of 2004. DS 23 B'day fell during this time and got nothing last year, so told him I'd take him for this year to WDW.
Ya know that great saying "When it rains, it pours?" That was an understatement for us during the 2 weeks prior to our trip. I came very close to calling off the trip, because I was getting really bummed with the string of bad luck, plus the $$$$ this bad luck was causing me.
2 weeks before planned 6 day/6 night trip, my bathroom springs a leak, not a small one either- like major flooding of the bathroom, the living room and even into the kitchen. Cha-ching!!! There goes a FEW pretty pennies. Finally get the budget under control and thinking "Ok, all is good!" WRONG ANSWER!!
9 days before planned trip, car will start, but no power to "go". Check Engine light greeted me! Get it towed to the dealership (of course out at DS9's school) so the basic AAA only covered the first 5 miles, Cha-Ching!!! There's goes more PRETTY PENNIES.
The dealership, we have to run a diagnostic test to see why that light is coming on. CHA-CHING $$$$$$$
Need to replace the coil wires-CHA-CHING $$$$$$$
Get it home, re work the budget YET again. Got it figured out, feeling not so good, but determined to get this vacation under way.
6 days before the trip, I come down with that nasty cold that everyone seems to be getting!! Great! And can't take time off from work to rest, cause I need the hours for the trip! ARGH!
The morning, of the day, we are to pull out for our 3 hour drive, after I fill up the car with gas...............that horrid orange "Check Engine" light greets me yet again! I call my mechanic at the dealership (this is a Sat. on top of it). He says he can't do anything until Monday. We'll here comes the waterworks and the "I'm suppose to be leaving for WDW in 4 hours!!" He says bring it in, we'll run the diagnostic test to see what it says. No Cha-ching this time.....but it's a sensor. He says it's fine and to go. The most that might happen is it'll burn a little extra fuel. I get home, call my best friend, he says it should be fine, as long as it's not running bad.
Of course by now, I am a nervous wreck and thinking something does not want me to go on this trip. But thought, "Go....EQ....go"
