Well guys, it's a new month. Maybe you are a regular, or maybe your "little temptations" are back in school and you want to rejoin, or maybe you haven't joined before and this is the perfect time to start. No matter what, all are welcome to join. If you are new here, it is a great group of people who encourage each other to stick to our own personal goals.

Good luck everyone!

My goal is same, 15 $0 days.

Yipppeeee!

I will be on vacation Thurs-Sunday. Bf will pay for food since I paid for the room several months ago. My vacation money is a separate account so I won't count it. I do have $150 in cash to take. But everything in DC is free so all we have to pay for is metro passes. DD might con me into some souvies in Chinatown.

I am not going to track gas. I can't do anything about the price of it or how much I need (about $60). Power, water, cell phone, internet & student loan payment add up to about $225 a month, I won't count those either. Daycare will be $160 this month, preschool will be $45.

My biggest downfall is eating out. There are 8 weekday opportunities to eat breakfast out. I want to just do it 4 times max, no more than $3.28 each time (that is 3 $1 items from McDs...yum! lol). There are 8 weekday opportunities to eat lunch out. I want to trim that to 4 also (just taco Thursday with my work peeps). I don't want to eat out more than once a week for dinner, max of $17 (that is Chinese with tip for 2 people- I have coupon for other things that is less so I am going to try to use those).

Groceries - I'd like to trim down our pantry & freezer. So let's try for $100. I just cleaned out the fridge so I'll start fresh. I've got various thing lurking in the freezer and pantry but currently only have condiments, 2 packs of lunchmeat and 2 packs of cheese in the fridge. Anyone have ideas for using up 20 cans of diced tomatoes?

So...
Groceries - $100
Eating out (breakfast, tacos, dinners) - $107.12 (ok so that is wrong - spending more on eating out - maybe that will be the incentive I need)
Clothes - $45 - I need 1 pr of jeans & my consignment store will be putting the next color tag on the $1 racks soon (how cool would it be to find my jeans on the $1 rack!!). I have several items I've been stalking for DD. I get the best things, like velvet Gap jackets, hannah dresses & gymbo stuff, a lot of times with tags. For a buck!
Toys - $20, DD always manages to con me out of something lol
Makeup - $25 I need another tub thingy of mineral makeup
General household stuff - $50 - cat food, cat liter, paper products & cleaners
Yard Sales - $20. I think the season is pretty much over, but there is a consignment sale in Sept and I like to buy hairbows there.
DDs preschool supply list - $50 - it is wicked long and doesn't match any of the cheapo stuff I bought about a month ago for her craft stuff. Boooo hiss!
Passport or Readoption in TN for DD. I am not sure which direction I'm going, but she needs a better proof of citizenship than a Certificate of Citizenship. Plus if I loose the COC, it is $350 to replace! The cost of this is whatever it will be, I won't be able to control it so I won't count it (cheating...I know!).

Um, so that is $417.17. That is $250 less than last month. I am not sure I can do it but I'll try :)

I'd like to join! We leave for Disney in 23 days and though I don't know how many 0 days I will have, it will be good to feel "accountable" so I can save as much as we can for the trip. Of course, we have all we need now...but it's always nice to have extra cash just in case!

I am glad today is the 31st because we splurged a bit today! Off to a fresh start tomorrow!

I have been waiting until the end of summer to participate. I am shooting for 10 no spend days!

I've had some kitty issues, so August got away from me. First, we adopted a kitten (yay!) but then my other cat ate something and isn't feeling well (so off to the vet we went).

Anyway, September is looking like an expensive month. I'm taking my DD to NYC for the first time, it's our anniversary, and I need a lot of household supplies, so I don't think I'll do an exact budget. Instead, I'll shoot for 12 no-buy days and just post them as they happen.

I'm BACK! I want to thnk my budget through carefully. I need to budget for (but won't include here) university texts for DD19, and I also won't include all of the music/school cheques that come out every September. Monthly bills are covered. :)

Budget:

Eating out - $35 I've ADDED this one. DH and I didn't get away this summer, so I am determined to have a 'date night' at least once this month albeit cheap

Gas for vehicle - $200 Driving DS around....long story  but it needs to be done

Groceries - $500 This is lower than usual, but I'm going to try

School supplies - $45 amazon.ca is my FAVOURITE place these days

Shoes for school - $150 stupid Board came out with a shoe policy, and now I have to buy new closed toed shoes (and comfy=$$)

Christmas gifts - $100 hoping to get a start on this!

$0 days- 10 I never have good luck with this because DH loves to shop and hits the local supermarket daily :headache:

Happy September Everyone!
Great to see returning and new faces. Good Luck everyone! I almost always start a new month with a $0 day, hoping today is no different. Told DD11 we'd go get her locker stuff today but I have the GC to Staples that I got for her (free) backpack, so if we go we will keep it under that.

I'm in also! I won't count purchases for my husband's business (that comes out of his business checking anyway) since they are necessities.

We will be in Orlando the 7-13 - tickets are covered but food is not, nor is the scooter I have to rent because I have a bad hip, but I do have money set aside for both (not a whole lot of money, so I may have to dip into the regular fund a bit).

My goals will be no buying anything "New" - I can still do yardsales, Goodwill, etc. I will also make a goal of no dining out (except in Florida, where I have no choice)...except the 25, which is our anniversary and we do like to do something special that day.

This will be fun! :-)

My goals for this month:

15 No Spend Days
Groceries: $275
Clothes: $100
Home: $100
Entertainment: $100
Gas: $160
Misc. $50

I'll probably go over in all categories ... lol. My daughter started kindergarten last week ... so I am not sure if I have enough in the budget to cover her lunches that she wants to bring. Also, she only started the year off with 4 uniforms, but I am having a really hard time finding any in her size. I'm probably going to have to give in and order them online ...

I would love to join this month! I have our trip to Disney at the end of OCtober and two weddings from now to than :sad2:, so need to really watch my spending and stay within budget from now till than!

15 No Spend Days
Groceries: $550
Clothes: $300 (includes dress, shoes and shoes for my son)
Home: $50
Entertainment: $50
Misc. $50

Day 1: had to buy bread :( lol 1.99

I so need to be in this and stay in....:rotfl:

Going to try this for the first time, however this month will be a tracking month to figure out where the money goes, and how much we tend to spend a month of groceries and such. I know this will not be a good month though, as the dogs have to go to the vet today, we are heading out of town for the holiday weekend for my girlfriend and I to shop some for our girls at an outlet mall. I have Justice bucks to use, and I also found a 20% off for the Coach outlet. I have worked so much overtime this summer, I think I am due for a treat for myself. :thumbsup2

The biggest thing that I need to cut back on is going out to eat.

I'm going out on a limb here and posting my zero now. I am not leaving the house until we are on the road to the amtrak station.

9/1 - zero

Vacation Cash - $150/150
Groceries - $100/100
Eating out (breakfast, tacos, dinners) - $107.12/107.12
Clothes - $45/45
Toys - $20/20
Makeup - $25/25
General household stuff - $50/50
Yard Sales - $20/20
DDs preschool supply list - $50/50

Ok I have never joined this but ALWAYS wanted to. I am so envious of all of you that spend so little and can go multiple days without spending money.
I never spend a lot of money so that is how I justify spending it. $3 at Target, 2.50 at McD's etc. But it all adds up and we are going to WDW in 40 days. So Sept is a great time for me to try this out.
We are in the process of adding a sunroom and I have to buy some supplies for that today. When this room is complete I do not want to spend any money on house stuff until next year unless there is an emergency.
Sunroom =$750 ($250 in materials, $500 in labor)

Eating Out = $35 FOR THE MONTH. This will be crazy but I think we can do it. Last month was insane and it needs to stop.

No Buy Days = 18 Again crazy since I have never done this before, but it will be good for me.

I am looking forward to working with all of you!!!

I would love to join!!! I am totally new to this, but I am looking to cut back on some things and start to better track our spending so this should help alot. :)

Goal 10 No Buy Days :goodvibes
