Episode 6: Some tails, some ice and lots of magic

Well Joe, you did it again. I think your kids are very lucky to have a dad like you. I bet you are lots of fun too!

Thanks for your wonderful trip reports. We just returned last week and I'm not sure if we could do our trip just like you have done.

You mentioned Connor as not being the Carbonated beverage type even at 5. Well my 10 yr old DD has only had a sip of Carbonated drinks (she was tricked into these by her devious brothers Connor and Blair). Everyone calls her weird she says but she prefers pink lemonade or water. Small wonders...

Keep em coming..Also I like the idea of making things up after you finish your actual trip reports ;)

Once again a great trip report.
The first thing I did this morning when I woke up was to look for it, what a great way to start a sunday morning! :)

Joe- you have so eloquently captured all the sentiments we have felt on our trips to Disney. Your report will be a treasure to your children when they grow up. It's wonderful to see how you value the special moments you have now- we know only too well how fleeting they are- our children are now 21, 19 and 14 and we so miss the days when they were young and full of wonderment- We just bought into DVC so we can experience it with them still and hopefully with our grandchildren. If you plan on returning every few years, you should look into it- especially with your growing family! Looking forward to the next installment and best wishes on the upcoming arrival of your Disney princess!

Thanks for the wonderful writeups. You capture the essence of what makes these trips wonderful for my family - it's ALL the things that Disney provides clean beautiful settings, happy attentive CMs, varied and large selections of good things to eat, and fun attractions... but it is also about what we provide - love of our family (each person is so unique and wonderful), slowing down and savoring the great environment, just playing, and YES - having the good sense to throw our carefully laid plans out the door when the situation warrants it!

You are a gifted writer and I thank you for sharing your personal experience. I read each episode with wonder and excitement. Look forward to the next "episode"!

Ive enjoyed all your trip reports, they are well written. I will with you, you should be ashamed wearing a rain poncho on a water ride, that has never made any sense to me and the 10yrold was right on!

Thank you, Joe for posting another segment. I really appreciate you putting your time and effort into recreating your magical trip for all of us.

The end of your story about Uncle Jack sent chills through me, I totally agree.

I couldn't think of a better way to use my first post than a big thank you for the "inspiration reports". You have truly captured the magic! Thank you Joedisney for allowing me to escape back to the place where dreams can come true even if only for a few stolen moments out of this busy mom's day.

Wonderful report again, joedisney! I have so enjoyed your posts. This particular one struck close to home. I'm printing it out for my husband to read. He doesn't understand completely why I enjoy going to WDW so much and so often. You have very succinctly put my feelings into words! Thank you! I'm anxiously looking forward to the next installment.

Thank you, JoeDisney. I have three boys too. The youngest is now six, but at age 18 mos. he was definite octopus material. When he was 13 mos. old we all went to DL and the baby had the same, shall we say, "diaper problem". I even heard the words,"Mom, what is that dripping out of the stroller?" My husband always tells me don't sweat it, look at the great story value. I only wish I could tell our stories as well as you tell yours!

Joe,

One of the most outstanding aspects of your reports is the unabashed joy you take in being with your family, all of whom sound delightful. Treasure these years with your young ones -- they'll be teens before you know it. And though you will still love them with every bit of your heart, it won't always be easy -- LOL!!

When we were at the World in Feb., we took the Kali River ride. Last summer two of our sons were in the 'Soak Seat', and got an absolute bath. This time, my daughter and I were the (un)lucky ones. It took us hours to dry off, and provided the perfect opportunity to teach my daughter that sometimes it's very cool to look like you didn't make it to the ladies' room on time!

Can't wait for the next report --

Okay, who are you really? Your writing is magnificent and very captivating. You make your family sound just like the Waltons. . . in 2000. Thx for sharing.
