Epilepsy

my mom has epilepsy.
the scariest moments of my life are moments when she has seizures.
she rarely has them because she takes pills to control it, but when she starts to forget to take her pills and she has one it is the most terrifying thing ever.
And she loses her short term memory for a while when she comes out of it, last time she had one she didnt remember our dog.

I know what it is.

I work at a ski resort/mountain and there was a kid who had a seizure two weeks ago. His friend, apparently either didn't know he had a condition or didn't know it was real and kept skiing. We later learned that the kid who had the seizure had faked being hurt the day before, so that may explain why his friend kept going- he thought his friend was faking again. We're talking 12 and 13 years old here, so I don't think they've had a lot of health class or psychology class to learn what it is. The kid who had the seizure bit his tongue, but he was OK in the end. The ambulance was there in under 5 minutes.

I only know so much about it because a) one of our regulars was the one who called Ski Patrol and b) I work right next to where the ambulance arrives/ski patrol. I hear everything that happens on the mountain.
