Great shot! I'm not nearly as patient. If I tackled that one, I'd snap 2 images; 1 for each Monorail, and process the HDR/Panorama later. I just got done doing this one from 3 snapshots. Literally snapshots, P mode, no reading of expousres. I'm going to play around with it more, but with a little care, I'll try to re-create your shot (without a tripod since I don't carry one) in December when I'm there. Well done!
That really is an awesome shot!! Your DF must have a) amazing patience b) an appreciation for photography that almost matches yours and c) a lot of love for you ... my mom did well this trip with my photography endeavors but she became a little restless sometimes!
Ok, so how did you do it?? The EXIF is showing 10 seconds which obviously couldn't be since the monorails are stationary. Is that the main shot and then the monorails are layered over and taken with a different shutter speed?
Nice work! Great vibrant colors, and looks great with the monorails zooming in and out around the SSE. Looks like some nice layer stacking of 3 shots, to get the monorails on either end. Definitely takes a lot more time and patience than many of us have! I might consider doing it in the winter when it's cooler - but no way would I want to stand there on a near-90 degree night waiting that long for monorails to both enter and exit through the scene!
*Very* nice!!! You set the bar way high with this one and it's gonna' be hard to come up with something to answer it, especially since we are rarely in the parks even at closing time!

Awesome photo! But in your Flickr info, it doesn't say how you did it? Did you take high ISO fast shutter for the monorail shots and then layer them in with the long exposure shot?
