Hi Folks,
I am not at all sure where this requests belongs, so I also posted on the DVC Community Board. Sorry for the duplication, but as I said, I'm not at all sure where to get the information I want.......

I am looking for information on the event called "Party for the Senses". It happens at Epcot during the Food and WIne Festival. I really want to make the most of our time there in October and at first glance, this looks very appealing. I need more information to help me decide.

I am planning for four adults, one in a wheelchair. Can anyone tell me if it is worth the cost of $95/person. Is it crowded? Do you sit down a meal?

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer!

It is well worth the money.

There are stations set up for food/wine. You go back and forth..around and around as many times as you want trying all that you can in the couple hour timeframe of the party. There are tables to dine at. Some people say not enough tables, some tables you stand and eat at, some you sit and eat at, then you see some people just standing around eating. Some people keep their table and go back and forth, some take a new table in each area of food. Just depends. Some parties are busier than others.

What we usually do, is find our table first..then one person stays with the table at all times while the others take turns getting food/wine etc. They give you a map type thing with what is being served where so you know what you are eating and where to go.

We are planning our first Party of the Senses this year too, so I can't tell you what I think of the value or how it will work with your group. however, if you want to read some firsthand accounts of past years' events I suggest you go to Deb Wills' site: http://allearsnet.com/tp/ep/foodwine.htm

She has information about everything concerning F&W Festival! Hope that helps.

Where is the Party for the Senses held? Since it sounds like tables are sometimes difficult to come by, is it awkward to just stand and sample? I assume these will be different foods that what are offered at the booths around the World Showcase. If one decided to skip the first part (Eat to the Beat Concert), how simple or difficult would it be to join the party at 6:30 when the samplings begin?

Party of the Senses is held in what was Millennium Village. We skipped the concert last year and just went to the "party." Just plan on being at the Village around 6:00pm to line up for entry. We had a great time and plan on doing it again this year. They do serve different foods than are in the booths around WS. My favorite was a braised Thai duck with mashed potatos and slaw (and I don't like duck). The desserts were heavenly too.

There are plenty of tables especially in the back. I seem to remember some stand up tables, too, as we passed the first few booths. We had a table all the way in the back which was fine.

We went last year and frankly we were disappointed. We enjoy dining V&A is our favorite along with Bistro de Paris and this was not dining it was a cocktail (or should I say a winetail) party. When you went in you were given a small plate/kind of tray and (this is the best part) a Reidel Epcot Food&Wine glass that take with you. Then you go to the different food stations and pick up a small appetizer portion of food, then you go to another station for wine. There were many many many stations. The food was very good. But you do the line thing for every station. They also had some people from La Nouba on a stage in the center of the room. I am glad we did it once but I wouldn't do it again because it was a lot of work and in 2 1/2 hours we didn't get to a lot of the stations. Since you have the one wine glass they had spring water at the wine stations to rinse out the glass. Then if you wanted to sit you had to walk back and find an empty place everytime. We tried to hold seats by leaving a pad and paper at the table but people took over our table and even took my pad and pen. They gave them back when I asked what happend to the items on the table. There were standing tables in the front and sitting tables in the back. The tables were a long ways from the food stations and the standing tables were packed in the front because they were closer to the food. The only reason I would do it again would with a group of friends or to get a couple more of the wine glasses.

Is this the large tent that is accessed in the vicinity of Canada? I was assuming it would be in the American Adventure area near the concert stage. No one has mentioned the beer offerings...was there anything unusual...other than the several types of beer that are offered in the World Showcase?

It may look like a tent but it is a building. It's just past Canada just before you hit Great Britain. Sam Adams had a booth there and had several different beers. Since I'm not a wine drinker, I had one beer and then stuck with water which was readily available.

There were about six of us so there was always someone sitting at our table (so we had no trouble with people taking our places). We put the plate and the wine glass on the table and just used the plates and glasses provided by each booth. We would also visit several booths so we had about three or four plates of food to finish before we set off again.
