EPCOT's Evening Extra Magic Hours

We're visiting the World in a few weeks and we'll have the ability to participate in the Evening Extra Magic Hours for deluxe resorts at EPCOT. Although I know it's not a popular opinion to shop during this time, we're wondering if the shops and snack carts open, specifically in World Showcase during this time? Also, are Genie+ and ILL purchasable during these evenings? We may not do any of this, but just want to go in armed with options and info. TIA!

We were there June 19-29 and the shops and snack carts were almost all closed. We found cart open selling beverages. I would honestly not even bother if I had to do it again.

We were there early June and the Epcot extra hours was just so-so. Not all attractions are open, so we only had time to do Soarin and GotG. After that we saw test track was close and we just called it a night. Everything is just so spread out that “getting a lot done” is really tough in 2 hours. Especially because the first 30 minutes are with queues partially filled with day guests hopping in line just before park close. Next time we go, we probably will just get our virtual for GotG and that’s it.

EPCOT EEMH were the only part of the trip that did not go well. We did not buy water before Harmonius and were not able to find any place selling water until we went all the way to the front of the park (Pin Traders next to the EPCOT ball). We were able to only ride GOTG. The wait time at Remy and Frozen were too long at 50-70 minutes and Test Track went down. Because the walk from Test Track to Soarin is so much longer with the construction walls we did not head over there. Would not do this again unless I was doing it solely for GOTG which is a great ride. In contrast Magic Kingdom EEMH were wonderful.

Can’t help with the shops/food open but we also didn’t find it as good as it was for MK. We got in line for soarin about 840. That wasn’t bad. By the time we got over to test track it was about 915. Took us a little under an hour to get done with that (we think it went down as at one point we didn’t live for about 10 minutes). By that time we had to choose either frozen or remy. Since we’ve never done remy we went there. It was a 50 minute wait. We waited probably about that and we’re getting off right before 11. So we got two rides done in two hours plus a lot of walking.

If I were to do it again I’d try to focus on maybe one side of the park more that we did. We thought we could do soarin, tt, frozen, remy and thought maybe throw in ms too. No way that was happening. We possibly could’ve done ms, tt, frozen, remy if we started at ms at 840.

They really need to make it 3 hours at EPCOT, given the smaller number of rides and huge distances between them. Either that or have Deluxe Extra Evening Hours at DHS instead of (or in addition to) EPCOT.

Don’t do any EMH wanting food/beverage. MK or Epcot.
Get it before it begins.
We found VERY few at either park.
I think the stand at the exit at MK was open and the pretzel stand near Soarin’ was open
That’s about it
But you do not want to spend time in line for that stuff
That’s not why you are there
That’s the stuff you do during regular park hours, not extra hours

As stated, Epcot’s is tough enough as it is. We got done what we wanted to but it’s not a park where you are going to do everything.

MK you can get a lot done.

At both it’s on you to pay attention to what’s open and what’s not. Not all rides operate during extra hours. Find out and plan your night
