Epcot's 30th

Haven't heard anything. I wouldn't hold my breath for anything spectacular, judging by how not-publicized and underwhelming the MK 40th was.

When I was down there last week I heard from a bus driver that for the 30th anniversary they'll be re-theming all of Future World into a new land called "Pixar Universe" with Mission: Space's re-themeing being that of Wall-e, Test Track to Cars, Universe of Energy will be gutted and a huge Pixar meet and greet will be put in place with the longest queue line ever. Also, Soarin will be gutted and Laugh Floor moved over into its space, Imagination being entirely re-done and a clone of Toy Story Mania being placed in the housing, as well as a new 3D show called "Pixar is life" will be replacing EO. Finally, Innoventions will turn into a Pixar outpost for movie production, and Spaceship Earth will now be a tour of how Pixar films are created from idea to movie screen. I can't wait!!!

:rotfl::rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:

Wait... are you serious... :rotfl2:

Similar to the Leap Day promotion, Epcot will be open for 30 straight hours on its Anniversary and all lines will magically have a wait time of exactly 30 minutes.

Oooh hubby and I will be there on Oct 3 - I am so excited! Even if they aren't doing any big celebration things, I still think it is pretty cool. :) I like that anniversary mercy - thanks for the link! :yay:

I think they should turn the Spaceship Earth sphere into a giant pink cupcake!

Please don't give them any ideas! They could decide to resurrect the giant Mickey Wand next to Spaceship Earth!

When is it their 30th Anniversary..2012-2013?!

The acutal day would be 10/1/2012. There have not been any details released if there will be a year long celebration or if it will be just several days, etc. For the 25th anniversary, there was an event on the actual day and that was about it.

I'll have what he's having.

If you are a member of D23, there will be an extensive celebration on 9/30:

October 1, 2012, marks the 30th anniversary of Epcot at Walt Disney World Resort and D23: The Official Disney Fan Club invites its members and their guests to fete one of Disney’s crowning achievements on this special occasion. The event will whisk D23 Members back to a time touted as when “the 21st century begins”—those early Epcot years when guests first marveled at “Astuter Computers,” “Smellitzers,” the novelty of “riding on sunshine,” and were awed by a massive geodesic sphere called Spaceship Earth.

D23′s Epcot 30th Anniversary Celebration offers the most detailed look at the design, development, and evolution of Epcot ever presented by The Walt Disney Company.

World Passport general admission includes:
• Access to all presentations
