Epcot's 25th Anniversary - anything special?

My DH and I were talking about future trips, and wondering if anyone has heard of anything special planned for Epcot's 25th Anniversary?

We were there for opening day of Epcot, so would hate to miss anything planned for this special time.

Very tight-lipped about this so far. I haven't even heard any rumors that are strong enough to even mention.

There has been some goofy stuff associated with the 25th...

the Canadian Log Flume ride

an old ride that was being built for Japan and now is in Tokyo (please help me with the name here...)

A change in Illuinations, or at least an addition to it

Wonders of Life change to coincide with 25th

Many of these may or may not be related to the anniversary, but it seems that whenever a rumor about EPCOT pops up, the 25th becomes a justification for it. Stay tuned....

That's along the lines I was thinking might happen.

Definitely a change or update to Illuminations, maybe bring back a new version of the 2000 parade.

Some of the rides could use an update, esp. Spaceship Earth.

Can't wait to see what comes up. I just hope it's good - I think Epcot is often unappreciated, and it's our favorite park.

Gee, it will be tough to beat the birthday cake castle

Of course, the golf ball is already silver (for the silver anniversary) - maybe they will make everything else silver!

When we were there in January, we spoke to a castmember about upcoming events. He said that the 50th Disneyland anniversary is going to be over in October or thereabouts. Anyway, after they clean everything up from that, they will be celebrating WDW's 35th anniversary from this year into next year and then next year they will start to celebrate Epcot's 25th into 2008. So, there's a bunch of stuff going on down there back to back. I don't have any details though unfortunately.

Really? I heard they were going to take down the wand and put up a sign that says..."BAMBI II Own it now on Disney DVD!"
