Based on your experience, what attractions (and why) would be the most interesting to two very outgoing children ages 9 and 6 (their ages during our next WDW vacation) at EPCOT?

Any tips/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Probably all the attractions in Future World. Disney even makes learning about Energy enjoyable.
Now, in the World Showcase, there are a lot of movies that go with the country pavilions. There are 2 boats rides; Norway and Mexico. Some of the countries only have shops and an occasional show. Not so exciting for kids.

I think there might be a difference between boys and girls at that age. If they are boys, Test Track will definitely be a top attraction. If you are there when Soarin' is open, I'm sure they would like that too. Innoventions is a good place to cool off and has a lot of computer games that will keep them entertained. Also, Imagination will be great for them.

the world showcase would be a fun place to eat - teppenyaki in japan where the chefs cook right in front of you is always great. try to hit ellen's energy adventure later in the day when they're a little tired, it's a slow ride, about 40 minutes (but very entertaining!!).

Test Track, Honey I shrunk the Audience, and Turtle Talk with Crush!!

Thanks for all the tips. Its funny, when I originally entered this thread we were planning a 12/06 trip, now we have moved it up a year!!!! :goodvibes

I don't know much about any of the parks, but Epcot is the one that has all the scientific and technical stuff in it - right?

Can you see it all in a day? Or do you have to plan on several days there.

My wife and I are sorta old - late 60's. I am thinking that Epcot is the best one for us.

If your kids are truly OUTGOING..purchase a Passport for the World Showcase and have them ask questions & tell the CM's who stamp the passports and are actually from their countries, about themselves..My son takes TaeKwonDo and the CM's in China LOVED watching him show some of his SKILLS!

In innovations west i think, is a place to race robots and each person gets to make their own plastic robot to keep for free. We just did this last week & our 12 & 8 yr old grandsons loved it.

Kangaroo - I think you'll enjoy Epcot - plan 2 days. One for Futureworld and one for World Showcase. While Innoventions is a lot of kid stuff we bunch of grown ups had fun being kids again too. Don't forget to go inside the Epcot ball on Spaceship earth and do everything in the Land and Sea pavilions. Maybe Wonders of Life will be open when you go. In World Showcase, everything is an experience IMHO (you can tell I like Epcot). The films, the boat rides, the sounds, the gardens, the smells. One of our funnest moments at World Showcase was looking at the labels in the gift shop in China and finding out very little was made in China (when everything else in America seems to be made in China! :) We loved the Umpah band in Germany's Biergarten. Our waitress said she came to work for one year - that was 20 yrs ago. Hopefully Soarin' will be there when you go. We stood and listened to the band in Mexico and tried on all the hats, played with all the instruments for sale. In Norway we got a sugar rush at the pastry shop. The garden in Japan was great. - Well, like I said, you can tell I like Epcot! :sunny:

In our group the 11 yr old girls seemed to be utterly bored with Epcot but they spent 3 days at Magic Kingdom and could have gone more.

My kids ages 12, 8, 7, and 3 had so much fun with the robots in May. DH and I raced them too, we are still laughing about that.

Soaring is awesome. My kids love Test Track and Crush as mentioned before. The older ones love Mission Space, and the younger, the Mission Space Play area. They also enjoyed baking cookies in the Land, Honey I Shrunk the Audience, Spaceship Earth, Journey Into the Imagination, and the Kidcot Stations (making masks and having each country stamp it).

There are so many things to do in Innoventions. And there are always new things to discover as you walk through the countries.

Friends just returned from their first WDW trip and told me they skipped EPCOT because there was not much to do there. WRONG!!! My kids love EPCOT. And don't forget Illunimations!

OHHH - so Epcot is where all the "countries" have their areas that show their culture in terms of dress and architecture and food? I had heard of that and find it really interesting. We may just pitch our tent at Epcot if that is true.

THANKS - makes planning (what there is of it) a lot easier. Epcot, then Epcot, then Epcot, and finally, Epcot.
