Does anyone know if they still open up WS entrance just before Illuminations for folks without passes. My dilema, we arrive late on Sat 10/15, DW, DS and I have AP's but my in-laws who are travelling with us only have daily passes and don't want to waste tix just for Illuminations and this is the only day that we can see it.

You can see Illuminations from outside of the park, on the bridge leading from the Yacht/Beach Club to the Boardwalk ... not sure if you'll get the full effect (video globe, music), but you'll certainly be able to see nearly (if not entirely) all the fireworks

No matter what time you come through the gates you would need a ticket. We go at 8:55 and have to use our ticket at the main entrance.

If your inlaws have the magic your way passes, why dont they add a day? Whats great about the passes, is that once you hit 6 or 7 days, its only a few dollars, and I mean a FEW, to add a day. It it costs 5 bucks to add a day, Id do it!!

I dont know how many days you are going, but check out to see what the price of adding a day would be.

It costs $3 to add a day past 6 days as long as you don't get the no expiry option. IMO Illuminations is the best ANYTHING at WDW and it would be worth $20 just to see that. If you don't want to extend your tickets, consider rearranging your schedule so you can see it.
