I will be going with my 3 year old and have a flight home scheduled for 7 pm. We are going to Epcot that day. Anyone have experience taking a toddler to Disney and then flying home the same day? Am I crazy??

Yes. We always get a later flight and spend a little time in a park the last day. We did it when DD was 2, twice when she was 3, and once when she was 4. Our only issue was one of the 3 year old trips when she realized we were getting on the boat from MK to go back to WL to get Magical Express to go to the airport and fly home and she threw a big fit on the boat. She did not want to go home. Outside of that it was fine to go to the parks and then catch a flight later that day. It might have worked out even better, because she usually was worn out after a week of Disney and park time that day and fell asleep right after take off and slept all the way home.

I would plan to be at the airport by 4:00, so as long as you leave at the right time and allow yourself enough time to get to the airport you should be fine. Also, pay attention to where you are when it’s time to go. If you’re all the way at the back of World Showcase, it’s a haul to the park exit.

We had flights back April 2nd with 3 kids and went to Epcot until around 12:30 pm. MEARs pick up was scheduled for 3.5 hours before scheduled flight but they were almost an hour late.

Unfortunately (and thankfully a rare event still) all flights were cancelled for 3 days and we had to rent a car, buy car seats, car chargers and food/water, find a hotel after driving 4 hours ((exhausted by midnight) hotels in Georgia sold out; took 1.5 hr and got only 1 bed for 5 people; got to room at 1:30 am) and drove a total of 17+ 3 hrs (breaks/food/supplies). People who dropped bags were still trying to hunt them down 10 hours later (carry on only and an umbrella stroller are your friend) Was a Sat evening flight and we reached Monday morning at 4 am. Everywhere businesses are understaffed so things are extra slow (car rentals, restaurants, airlines etc).

3/4 post COVID trips have had flight issues, so I keep an extra day on both sides of the trip.

Masks will probably still be required. Have 2 power banks fully charged (in addition to extra snacks, activities).

We usually go to the park for a few hours before our flight home.
We have AP, otherwise we wouldn't.
Our kids get upset leaving no matter where we are leaving from so that doesn't matter for us lol.
