We will be doing one day at Epcot on Sunday. Our kids are 6 and 8 (will eat about anything). Where are some good places to eat lunch and dinner that won't completely break the bank (I know we are in Disney and it's all $$). Probably counter service meals for the most part.

Sunshine Seasons has variety. You may consider sample/snack your way around World Showcase.

Epcot has the best dining choices in my opinion. There are so many great counter service options around the world showcase, and in the building that holds Soarin' there is a counter service place that has good variety.

My kids' favorite has always been the German Restraunt: Biergarten....It is a little pricier (in the moderate range- check their buffet price, lunch a little cheaper than dinner and similar food), but it was always worth the cost- They have lots of seating and its a huge buffet, fills you up for the day.
Then for our other "meal" we have eaten from the stands around the world showcase- eggrolls, tacos, German sandwich, French pastry, etc
Morroco was also very very good, mid-range (same as German only not a buffet). Mexican wasnt very good indoors, neat atmosphere, but not worth the price.
We love to eat in the world showcase. Heard Le Cellier is awesome and will be going up in price (currently in the moderate), but very hard to get reservations.

Thanks! There are some good suggestions. I've been looking at the Sunshine Seasons menu and that looks really good with variety.

How do you snack your way around World Showcase?

If you want a sit-down meal in Epcot, I think Biergarten and Garden Grill are reasonably priced. Both are all you can eat... and we thought the food was very good at both.

Biergarten is less expensive for lunch and probably the best deal (most affordable) and I think the only difference is the buffet has sauerbraten (sour beef) at dinner in addition to everything else. Liked the German music/entertainment. Our bill was about $60 for 2 adults and 1 child (including tax, but not tip)

Garden Grill Dinner is served family style, all you can eat. Characters - Mickey, Pluto, Chip, Dale. Food was nice veggies, salad, potatos, Mahi Mahi, Turkey, Beef, etc. More expensive - about $85 for 2 adults and 1 child (including tax, not tip).

If it were me... I'd pick one of these big meals and snack the rest of the day... lots of good snacks around Epcot -- soup, pretzels, caramels, roasted nuts, beer (oh yea... beer).

Maybe some fish & chips baskets in England to share?Just some different types of counter service in diffrent countries to try small amounts.

Fish and Chips from Yorkshire in England is a good deal

Each country has a CS offering up smaller plates of good stuff representative of their home cuisine. You can grab sides and/or desserts at them as you stroll around world showcase.

I recommend Morocco's Tangierine Cafe, especially if you have vegetarians in your party. They offer hummus, tabouleh, salads and baklava as well as shawarma (like gyros). Yum -- my mouth's watering just thinking about it!

Tangerine Cafe is our favorite counter serve meal at Epcot. We do that every trip. Their baklavah is awesome when it's fresh.

As well we enjoy the counter serve in Mexico.

Ours, too.

For table service, we love the Japan pavilion and Teppan Edo is (staged but) fun for all.

Well, this is how my family of four does it... My son visits the Yorkshire County Fish Shop for fish and chips, while I wander over to the Tangierine Cafe for a lamb wrap and some bahklava. My wife heads to Japan for California rolls and Tempura. Then I like the Tempura and go and get me an order. My daughter likes the chicken meals at Tangierine but we will also share an order of fish and chips. We stop in at the Boulangerie Patisserie in France and order 4-5 desserts that we will share (although I don't like giving up any of the Napoleon).

If we can get in to Chefs de France, it is definitely worth ordering soup and a salad. Their French Onion Soup is pretty good (my son loves the duck, but that is definitely not a snack).

I like to stop in Germany for a Beer, and maybe a sausage (but not often). We HAVE to stop at Norway's Kringla Bakeri og Cafe for another dessert (school bread, pretzels, rice creams) or maybe a little sandwich. At some point we will all eat at La Cantina San Angel for another quick snack (once again we order several things and share - including churros).

We have to continuously eat, because we are running all over the park grabbing fastpasses, using fastpasses, shopping, and doing things on a whim.

At some time during the day (or days we spend a lot of time at EPCOT), we will walk over to the Boardwalk and visit the Boardwalk Bakery (they have wonderful Key Lime Pie tarts or something). And we grab a piece of pizza where ever they are selling it now.

Later in the evening my wife and I will wander back around the World Showcase looking for Margaritas and Grey Goose Slushies. As we wait for the Evening Illuminations.

There are lots of other variations on our plan though. You will have fun creating your own snack around the world.
