Hi everyone,

My husband and I will be visiting the WORLD in the beginning of December. This is our first visit without children. We plan on spending most of our time in Epcot, leisurely visiting the countries.

Any ideas or thoughts on what we should see, eat.......any hidden gems?

I am really excited about this trip and want it to be relaxed....we also enjoy an alcoholic beverage every now and then....

Don't miss the British Invasion in the back garden of the United Kingdom. My mom and I went a few weeks ago and just loved this show!
Also, if you head over to China you may be able to watch some traditional music followed by the cutest and most amazing Chinese child acrobats! It is right outside where they show reflections of China

If you are planning a few days at Epcot you will have time to see most, if not all, of the outside entertainment - our personal favorite is Off Kilter outside of Canada. Check out the daily guides for the performance day's and hours so you will be able to plan your itinerary based on the things you prefer to see.
Check out Steve Soars entertainment schedule http://pages.prodigy.net/stevesoares/ (click on Epcot)

I can't think of a better thing to do that that, you will have a great time!

Things that we like to do.Wander the hedgerow in England with a pint, listen to the British Invasion.

Listen to Off Kilter in Canada and wander thru the gardens near LaCeliers.
Go to Japan, watch the Koi in Koi pond, watch the show there and don't forget the candy lady.
Go to Italy and have a beer, watch the street performers show and volunteer to take people's photos in front of the statue/water feature (I think it's a Venitian themed feature - anyway, it's a great picture spot and I have met many people there).
A beer and a street show in Germany, don't forget to check out the model trains (garden railway) there.
On to China for the acrobats, to Norway for a beer, a skool bread and admire the stave church.
Go to Morroco have lunch at Restaurant Marrekesh and watch the Belly dancer.

These are some of my favorite things to do, But I will spend hours just walking thru the different shops looking at native merchandise and having a native malt beverage.

we usually eat ts in epcot but one day this last time hub and i split one item from each country...took a while but we managed :) and decided to do that every time now( might skip a few places next time, just not worth it to us)

not really "hidden" but we love the french movie then gettting a pastry and coffee( or some of that "alcoholic beverage" you mentioned) and lingering over it at the patissiere...beautiful at night with the lights and romantic too considering you are sitting in a theme park and not Paris!

Thank you everyone for your suggestions, I have printed them all out and eagerly anticipating exploring all World Showcase has to offer......

Keep 'em coming.

M

If you can afford it, take the Hidden Treasures of the World Showcase tour. It is a morning tour aorund all countries. The best way to learn the hidden gems. So much great information! The tour is in morning before World Showcase opens to public, so you will have some private, quiet time with your group and your guide. There are some backstage elements too.

Sounds great, but I'm not sure I could keep up! :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1

Morocco also has tour just for their country that is free. There are also letters from their king and George Washington at the entrance to the restaurant. Make sure you explore the countries - France has a library room that is beautiful, and if you open a door in the store marked "keep closed" you can see the tower and a service road. Look for Hidden Mickeys - they are everywhere. I love the world showcase - there are so many little things to appreciate, like the architecture. Italy's pavilion is actually a reverse of Venice and Norway is modeled after an actual fortress in Oslo. Talk to cast members and ask about statues - they all mean something, and there are some hidden fun things!

You will get much advice on what you should see and not see, and that's fine. All I'm going to do is suggest one thing. In France, there is this one pastry shop (Can't remember the name, but it's the only one). It is to die for. Their pastries are thee best. If you're looking to lose weight or not, it doesn't matter. These treats are well worth putting on an extra pound for.

What days in December? We will be there the 3rd-10th.

I love Epcot. We just take our time (whole day) and go to all the shows, movies and rides.

we snack and drink at our leisure and take breaks and shop. :goodvibes

we are doing the Sedway tour on 12/6 at 9:30am :moped:

We (3 adults) Love Epcot. We spend a lot of time "wandering" around World Showcase taking in the sights and sounds there. We usually spend part of 3 days there.
Get a Times Guide to see the schedule for live entertainment in each country. See as much as you can. We particularly enjoy Off Kilter in Canada, the British Invasion in the UK. the Belly Dancers and Band in Morroco, the Living Statues in France. Each country has something worth seeing at a leisurely pace.
Also, many countries at world showcase have adult beverages you can sip as you walk - a fun way to explore the World Showcase lagoon. I have seen many posts that talk about the Fiesta Margarita in Mexico, but I haven't tried one myself.
Have a wonderful, Adult trip!
