EPCOT to DD

I have a question about travelling from EPCOT to Downtown Disney using WDW transportation.

I checked on 2 transportation sites and got very different information.

1. Walk to BC and get the bus from there.

2. Get the bus direct from EPCOT.

Why did #1 suggest walking to the BC if I can get a bus from the park?

Can anyone help me out on this one?

There is no direct transportation from the parks to DD/PI. The OFFICIAL word from WDW Transport is that you must take a bus back to YOUR resort, then on to DD/PI.

However, unofficially, you could walk over to the Boardwalk resorts and take a bus from there.

There are two other choices that might not be as congested.

Take a bus to OKW and then take the boat over to DTD/PI, or take a bus to Port Orleans Riverside and then take the boat over to DTD/PI.

Interestingly, website number 2 was wdwinfo.com - prominently displaying the DIS logo at the top .

IMHO, this is not a very good way to go unless you don't care how long it takes to arrive at DD. The boat from OKW only holds about 12 people. If there are more waiting than the boat can accomodate, the driver will usually ask to see resort IDs. OKW guests have priority (DVC members pay for the OKW boat, not Disney or the DD merchants). You may have to wait quite a while (or not, it just depends on how many OKW guests are going to DD). Also, check the schedule if you will be traveling in the evening - I'm not sure how late into the evening the OKW boat runs.

The quickest way is to take a bus - JMHO.

When you have a web site the size of wdwinfo or wdwig or one of the many other Disney info sites, there are bound to be pages that don't get updated as often as the changes that are made. It can (and does) happen to any of them at one time or another. You would be amazed at how fast and how often so many things change when talking about Disney, prices, policies, procedures, transportation, etc. That one or two things get missed or put off to a later time is understandable.
