Epcot to California Grill for 12:40 Brunch?

I'm scheduled for the ink & paint animation workshop at 11:00am at Epcot on the same day as my brunch reservation at California Grill. I usually don't worry much about travel time because I give myself lots of space to get around, but this one day presents a bit of issue as brunch is only on Sundays and the ink & paint animation workshop is only held at this one time during my trip. My question to you is, do you think that 25 minutes is enough travel time to make my ADR at California Grill? It says the workshop runs to 12:15 at the Odyssey Festival Showplace and in my calculation if I take an uber I should be able to make it, but as I'm not used to paying lot of attention to travel time I thought I'd ask for some other opinions. :)

Others may disagree, but I don't think you'd make it. The walk from the Showplace itself is going to be 7-8 minutes, at least, much less getting into your ride, then fighting traffic to make it to CR, then getting in and up to your reservation. And that's not allowing for the class running over, or your ride showing up a few minutes late. That doesn't mean CG wouldn't honor your reservation if you arrive late, especially given where you were. But, that's a whole other story. . .

I agree, I don't think you would make it. It would also stress you out, and diminish greatly the pleasure of both experiences.
You didn't say when this is, how far away. I would suggest keep trying for a later CG brunch time. Try Open Table too for the ADR. Isn't the Animation Workshop cancellation policy about 2-3 days or less than 7 days? Keep trying for a later res, and decide which one you will cancel if you need to. Good luck. Hope you find a better time, and can enjoy both.

You will be cutting it really, really close. I would not wait for uber. I would hot-foot it out of Odyssey and head toward the taxi station near the bus area in front of FW (that will take you 5-10 minutes). There are usually a ton of Mears taxi standing right there. I would hop in one and go. If traffic isn't bad (and the driver knows where they are going), you should be at CR in about 15 minutes. As PP suggested, I would keep looking for a later Cali Grill reservation.

You can book ADR for Cali Grill on open table? I can’t find it!

I don't know if you can yet. I know quite a few are on there now, Yak & Yeti is the one I do. But Disney is allowing some restaurants to be booked on Open Table. Takes effect Jan 7? Someone who knows more may jump in here. You could search for Open Table, and should be able to find threads & info on it.

Cali Grill was not listed in the ones released recently. It was only restaurants that are usually open leading up to the date.

I would be surprised if you could make it. If it gets done and you leave right at 12:15, you have to get out the front gate. Depending on how busy it is, it could be easy or take some time.
Then, find your UBER vehicle. Easily 10-15 minutes to Contemporary (depending on traffic and how busy the main gate is), then the time to get to checkin.
It could be done, but everything must be perfect and that rarely happens.
I think you will either have to leave EPCOT early, or try for a later ADR.

I would call for an Uber to pick me up at the beach club. By the time you get through ig, the Uber should be waiting for you. I would not deal with the front of the park

If you are in an Uber by 12:30 you will be late, but probably only 10 minutes late. I would go for it

WDW built a bypass and cars going to the MK resorts no longer have to drive through the MK gates! We just experienced this about two weeks ago and it made driving to the MK resorts a LOT quicker.

Thanks everyone. It’s for January 28th and I’ve been trying to get a later adr but not luck so far.

I’ll still give it a go and hope if I don’t get a later adr and I show up a little late it will still be ok :) might give the taxi a go instead of Uber though if that will save me a few minutes

If you walk back to either Yacht and Beach or Boardwalk, there are usually taxis waiting there. Not sure if they are waiting at the front gate as well or not.

As everyone has pointed out, it will either be really really tight or it may not work out. There are a lot of "if"s and "should"s and "might"s. IMHO, you might just be better off picking one or the other. Do you really want to put yourself into this position and add that extra stress while on vacation? Even if you keep both, will you be able to separate the 2? Will you be able to enjoy the workshop and live in that moment without worrying about making it to the brunch in time? Or are you going to be nervous and looking at your watch/phone the whole time, diminishing the workshop experience? I know I would probably have a hard time enjoying the workshop under those circumstances, but maybe that is just me.

Can you look into scheduling s "mini van" to meet you at the beach club at 12:30? You could sneak out of the workshop if is running late. I would let the workshop host know when I arrived that I need to leave on time.
