Epcot - this weekend - Marathon crowds?

Hi all!

Mom, grandma and aunt are staying offsite starting this Saturday. First park day will be Epcot on Sunday (not ideal, due to the marathon, but no changing it because it’s aunt’s only park day and this is where she chose to go). They’re definitely going to uber and be there by 8:00. Is this insane? We’ve been many times but never off-site nor on a marathon weekend. Should they Uber to BC or Boardwalk and go from there instead? And, if they do that option, will they be able to rent a scooter for grandma from the International Gateway? I recall seeing them there by the gift shop as we exit the park (we stay at BC when we go as a family) but have never tried to rent one there.

You will definitely see the runners at 8AM. They would be cleared out by late morning though. I think you'll be fine but plan for transportation delays due to road closures.

Thank you! People on FB are telling me that having them use the IG entrance would be an even worse idea because the runners go through there. Are they correct?
