My wife and I are considering going to Epcot (and Disney Springs) on 11/29 and 11/30 after Thanksgiving to visit the Holiday Festival. It's the only weekend we have available during the festival. We will most likely not do any rides and just walk around the world showcase. I see most crowd calendars predicting huge crowds at Disney World in general that weekend, but I was curious to see if anybody has any past experience with Epcot specifically on the weekend following Thanksgiving.

We'd prefer not to go if we are waiting 5+ minutes at each booth and dodging people as we walk around.

Thanksgiving weekend is pretty busy in general, we've done it twice. Not completely sure about the holiday festival as we haven't done that. Futureworld was crowded, but I wouldn't call it insane.

Don't bother with crowd calendars. Magic 8 balls are more reliable.

We probably wouldn't leave the world showcase area, so that's what I'm concerned with.

That used to be the first day of the holiday stuff, so it was crazy busy. Now that it's starting earlier, I don't think the majority of the crowds will all flock to Epcot like in the past. You'll probably deal with the overall large crowds you'd find in every park.

This year they reverted back to starting the international festival of the holidays on Black Friday. The candlelight processional starts on thanksgiving this year. I was bummed when they went back to having the storytellers start on Black Friday. I would expect Epcot to be packed on Friday but that will be our only day to experience the storytellers.

FotH starts on the 29th so it'll be busy plus the obvious Thanksgiving crowds
If you're just there for the food booths and storytellers and you started at 11 you'll be ok

It actually doesn't start until Black Friday as well.
