Epcot Test Track Single Rider question

We have a FP+ for TT for our Epcot day, but for some reasons my 2 kids LOVE this ride so I'm trying to figure out how to get them as many rides as we can. In the single rider line, I know we are not going to be in the same vehicle, but how does the computer design process work for single riders? Do you just get put in with another group, and likely then have no input with the design process?

I promised my 2 that we will ride once via FP+ and once at rope drop (they are ok missing Soarin' b/c we did it not too long ago at DL), and that each child will have their own chance to totally control the car creation process. Other than that, I think if they want to ride several more times we might have to do single rider, and I just want to be able to prep them for how the process will work.

Single riders pick from 1 of 32 preset designs. FP users create the design from scratch exactly like standby.

There's no real designing in the singles line,in fact sometimes the screens to pick a preset design aren't even working.

The single rider line also doesn't stop at the design consoles like you do in the regular line. You can stop and do it but the line keeps moving.

Yea if you want to really customize a car you'll have to ride standby. And every person doesn't get their own individual car to design.

If you guys are really set on designing individual cars and still want to do single rider, then go in the gift shop at the end of Test Track and they have a couple car design stations where you can take your time and design. Save the individual cars to individual magic bands, then you can do single rider and have them ready to go to scan

You can also customize your cars at the END of the ride. There are 2 design stations in the room right before the real cars to the right as you are walking out. Your kids can design or re-design there. DO NOT "redesign" in the single rider line or you will lose your custom car for one of the pre-made cars.
