I think many of us DVC owners feel the same we dont have to get to every ride and do long days. That being said it can be fun doing a few rides not having to wait in long lines.

I am wondering if there has been anyone who has tried this or has feedback?

  • Book LL Mutipass for Epcot (or AK even) to start day
  • Hit up the Tier 1 ride
  • Start refreshing LL for MK (or HS) while doing additional LLs in your existing park to start your day
You seemingly would save $10/person roughly (that adds up for the 6 of us over multiple days).

Seems the strategy anyways is to do the refresh method so you would really miss out on the first tier 1 ride at MK you would have rebooked and possibly a single tier 2 ride at MK as well.

Why would I do this?
I wouldn't feel bad about doing LL 6-8 times instead of 3-4 times over our 2 week trip.

I understand buying the MK LL is "better" since I could lock in a Tier 1 ride at 9am. I am really good at the refresh methods in the past whenever we did them and also always got early Virtual Queue times when they were around as well.

My family and I wound up doing something similar in February (started the day in AK and ended the day in HS) and it worked out unbelievably well….we got Expedition Everest and Kilamanjaro Safari in AK, strolled around the rest of the park while I started filling in HS LLs as we used our AK LLs and ended up at HS with LLs on Tower of Terror, Rock’n’Rollercoaster and Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway

It absolutely means stalking the app but depending on what at MK you want to ride it can absolutely be a winning strategy…

I've done this. I don't think I would do it "on purpose" to save the $10pp---instead it is the only way I can make an EP or AK LLMP purchase make sense.

What it comes down to is for our party of 6 roughly:
4 days MK/HS = 8 days Epcot/AK (starting the day)

Why? Its a less worrisome morning where we would want to rope drop and it leads to some stress to get out in time, catch that MK bus, ect. We instead just walk over to Epcot, get a ride or two, and let the refresh slot machine tell us which park HS/MK we head to.

We essentially avoid any line that is over 30 min wait on our trips typically. So this seems like a good option to not blow the budget (willing to tap in to the bank account for a unique experiences like a Helicopter transfer in St. Lucia to our resort just not rides we have already done).

I don't recall the price difference being that stark, but I do like the "keep it less stressful" idea. A lot.

This video I think explains exactly what you are saying. He says AK is the best first park to do this.

This would definitely mostly work and you will get the savings, but you may have to either sacrifice going on or wait in a long line for the 1 or 2 most sought after rides at MK/HS in order to get the cheaper price/larger volume of LLs. Like slinky dog for example. That ride sells out of LL very quickly and the line rarely ever gets short enough to get under a 30 min wait for your group. So rides like that you may have to skip or wait in a single long line for the day.
