I apologize up front if this topic is all over the place....I looked around, but could not find any information. I am curious if anyone has done the Segway Tour in Epcot. I'm thinking about doing it on our trip in May, but I was interested in hearing from those who have done it before....mainly, is it worth the cost and time involved? Any information would be very helpful and appreciated!! Thanks so much...I'm really enjoying these boards so far, you are all so helpful!!! Have a great day!

Hi, welcome to the Dis.
I took the 2 hour around the world segway tour with my DH and our 2 best friends on our last trip. It was so much fun and well worth the cost. We paid $68 as we got a DVC discount but other discounts are available. We learned to ride the segway for about 45 minutes inside and then we did a complete lap of the world showcase, going around various bits of the countries along the way.
I would say though that the tour books up quickly, there are usually 2 tours a day with 10 people on each tour. I would definately do the tour again.

We did the tour this past October. For the other three members of the group, it was the highlight of the trip. I had a bit more difficult time learning to manuver the Segway, but still had a ton of fun. We also paid $68 (I believe, it was a gift from the other couple we were with, so I am not positive what they paid for it.) and that discount was for using your Disney Visa to pay for it.

If you are looking for a play by play. Please see 'The one with the segways and no paperwork' in my signature!

Hope you enjoy it!

DH and I did the 2 hr tour on our last visit this past Nov/Dec. It was great! DH said immediately after the tour that if the vacation was over then it would have been worth it!

I would do the 2 hour tour, it is 1 hour of instruction and 1 hour or going around WS. The 1 hour tour is just the instruction.

It was well worth the money, take it you'll have a great time! :goodvibes :thumbsup2

I did the Segway tour pretty soon after it started, and it is one of my favorite experiences, ever, at WDW. It's fun to learn something sompletely different from anything you have ever experienced, and then take the tour around WS while it is still closed to the public. It's well worth the cost. You can ask about a AAA or AP discount if you have either of those.

DH and I did it in September. We had a great time. I, the balanced-challenged individual, even managed to do well! Another DVC discount used here! Definitely worth the time - money is a person decision!! Enjoy if you go!

Me and dbf agree that it was one of the best experiences we have ever had at Disney and we have been many times together. It was soooo much fun that we tried to book again during our vacation and couldnt because it was full. We will definatly be doing it again in the future.

Hi,
My husband and I did the 2hr Segway Around the World Tour this past Jan and it was great. They run twice a day at 8:30am and at 9:30am. We did the 9:30am tour. You spend an hour in a inside classroom where you learn how to ride a Segway and then it is out into the park. It was a great experiance and something we would do again in the future.

Sorry to hijack your thread but, does anyone know how far in advance you can make reservations? My DH and I would like to do this when we go in November.

I'm curious about this as well...I was just looking for general information, and that's a good question to ask!! We are going at the end of May, so I hope we're not too late. Anyway, thanks to everyone for your great information...we're going to try to get reservations. Sounds like it's a great time!

I did the 2 hours tour the first week of May last year. I called after I got there and was able to get in a couple days later. I was solo so only needed one reservation, but it was the kickoff week of the Happiest Celebration so that added to the crowds. The tour is absolutely worth the cost. :woohoo:

Call 1-407-WDW-TOUR 90 days out. They will charge your credit card at the time that you book the tour.

You can actually book the tours a year in advance (maybe a little more). We took the tour Christmas week last year and booked it 10 months in advance. If you are going in November I would call now to book it.

We did the Segway Around the World tour (the 2 hour tour) in October. We paid $68 each with a AAA discount. It was worth every penny. It was a
BLAST and a highlight of our tour. I would love to do it again on a future trip.
It was fun riding through a closed WS. We were on the early tour and WS had not yet opened to the public.
We also received a Segway Tour pin at the conclusion, a cool pin that can not be purchased otherwise.
