Trying to decide between these restaurants:

Akershus
Teppan Edo
Chefs de France
La Hacienda
Rose & Crown

I need help being persuaded in one direction or another! We like all different kinds of foods and dining experiences. Great service is a must! Please share your experiences...Or suggest a restaurant you love but that I haven't listed above.

Akershus: I have not eaten there
Teppan Edo: A good meal, not outstanding, but a fun dining experience with the Chef right at your table
Chefs de France: Overall we like the food there but the service is not great, can I say its French!!, and the tables are really close so you feel you must introduce yourself to the people at the next table.
La Hacienda: I have not eaten there
Rose & Crown: Even though i am English i am not a big fan of the food. Its good but I like the menus at many other places. But if you can get a reservations and request a table by the Lagoon its a great place to watch the fireworks. Almost worth the price of the meal!!

We ate at Teppan Edo in August and really enjoyed the meal. We had great service and our chef was excellent. He was fun and our 8yr old was mesmerized by him! We will be making this a must do meal from now on.

Akershus - we've had breakfast there and thoroughly enjoyed it. Our main reason for going is the meal. The characters are secondary for us.

Teppan Edo - have not been

Chefs de France - love it; agree with the poster upthread who commented about tables being very close. I was surprised by that. We lucked out and had excellent service, though. Food is solidly very good but not extraordinary. I could make a meal out of the bread and bisque, and the gratin de macaroni is my most favorite mac and cheese ever.

La Hacienda - hope to eat there one day

Rose and Crown - on my wish list, too

Too little time, so many restaurants . . .

Can I recommend you change chef de france to monsieur paul? I have eaten at both and monsieur paul was much better in all aspects - food, service, ambience. We have booked again for this year.

Akershus have not eaten there
Teppan Edo - Pretty much like any Japanese type restaurant you might have locally, think Beni Hana. The food is good.
Chefs de France - As others have mentioned tables are close together and the service can be hit or miss. Haven't ever had a bad meal there though.
La Hacienda - The better of the two Mexican restaurants, the service can be iffy according to some but we've never had bad. The food is pretty good and the view can be good if you get a table by the lake.
Rose and Crown - It can get crowded and loud inside, typical English pub food.

Chefs de France for sure. Im not a fan of the others and Ive eaten at all of them. Teppan Edo is a great experience if youve never been. Its really a one time restaurant.

Via Napoli and San Angel Inn are fabulous! I highly suggest those.

Favorite food of the bunch - France.
Uniquely Disney - Akershus.

Based on original post....

I would suggest getting on the BOAT, getting out of EPCOT, and enjoying any of a number of Fine Restaurants at the DOLPHIN, SWAN, BOARDWALK, or YACHT CLUB. These would be the Real Deal.

All a personal suggestion - I'm not necessarily right, no one else is necessarily wrong.

I love La Hacienda. The food is great, it's lovely inside, and I've had great experiences both times we ate there.

We really like Teppan Edo, but if your party is big eaters, they may not be entirely satisfied at the end of the meal. The food is very good, and we go every trip, but we notice that that is the place we often leave from not feeling too stuffed to move, as we do after the rest of our WDW table service meals. :rotfl: This is obviously not a bad thing, just something worth noting. (My mom and I usually share one quick service meal for lunch, so we aren't big eaters, either!)

I love Chefs de France. The lobster bisque is one of my favorite appetizers. When I last ate there 4 years ago they had Remy come around to tables, but unfortunately he doesn't anymore.

Via Napoli is a good deal if you order one of their large pizzas and share. Don't overlook it just because it's pizza. Their pizza is beyond anything I've had. They import the water for the dough from Italy so it's just like you'd have there.

I have not eaten at Akershus, but the general consensus I hear is that the quality is not as good as the steep price tag. You're really paying for the princesses, as with any character meal.

I really enjoyed Akershus, but my husband and kids did not. They are not adventurous eaters. I mainly went for the character dining experience. We went ti Via Napoli and I loved it. Great food too. I have not gone to the other restaurants on your list. But I plan to go to Chefs de France this year.

La Hacienda is my favorite TS at Epcot. Great food, (including vegetarian options - they have a separate menu if you ask), good service, and a nice place to watch Illuminations if you can get a table near a window.

Teppan Edo is a must do for us! The service has always been excellent and the food is always good! Just wish they would put the scallops back on a meal instead of an add on!
