Epcot resorts have major disadvantages getting to Epcot

Sounds like alot of whining to me over one ride - geezzz... we were there October 17-23 and never rode Soarin once. The lines were always very long and the fastpasses were gone for the day before you knew it. Who should I complain to about this, no one, thats just they way it goes ....

Okay, so the International Gateway is unfair to guests because the walk is longer than from the main gate.

That I understand. And you have found the solution to riding Soarin' first thing - enter via the front gate.

I'm curious - what exactly should the manager have done? As someone who works in customer service what would you have done with all the people who lost their advantage by entering the International Gate? What should the manager have done for you?

I'm trying to understand.

Bus to the TTC. monorail to Epcot. Very easy

There is no such bus. To use WDW transportation and get to the front of Epcot from the BC/YC you would have to take a bus to MK, stopping at at least one maybe two other Epcot resorts along the way. Transfer to the Monorail to the TTC and then transfer to the Epcot monorial. Not really very easy IMHO and very time consuming. Alternately you could take the boat or walk to MGM and then take a bus to the front of Epcot - again very time consuming and IMHO not worth it :)

I own at BWV, so find myself entering via the Intnl Gateway quite often. Do I wish we were allowed to go as far as the walkway over to FutureWorld? Sure, but I don't see that happening anytime soon. I just have to plan accordingly. It was even worse when trying to get to M:S or TT. At least Soarin' is on the same side.
I have had to forgo riding Soarin' for trips because of the complete chaos in that area. I did ride it last week, but that was after we got there, found there to be a 40 min wait, at park opening, so got FPs and returned later on...only about an hour or so. I just don't see why anyone would be upset over having to either wait for the attraction or just bypass it that day.
But, everyone has different expectations I guess. I knew the limitations when I bought at BWV.

Is this how WDW treats it resort guests? I get to wait an extra 45 minutes for paying for a deluxe?

1) You saying the Deluxe guests should get special status over Mod Guest?
2) You saying the Deluxe guests should get special status over Value guests?
3) You saying the Deluxe guests should get special status over other guests?

4) You got there in time for reasonable Fast Passes.
5) You only had a 45-minute wait for standby.
6) I don't see what the problem is here.
7) Someone smarter than I needs to explain it to me.

NOTE: With the exception of allowing EMH for on-site guests, Disney is not known as a caste-society. Wouldn't giving special status to Deluxe guest be creating one?

OP, I'm not exactly sure what your issue is or why you think staying at an Epcot resort allows you special treatment:confused3 . As long as you got a fastpass I don't see a problem.

We were down the 1st week of Dec and got fastpasses for Soarin' but never used them. We were having fun doing something else and don't feel 1 attraction can possibly make or break a vacation.

BTW, there are no buses from any Epcot resort to Epcot or MGM. Transportation options are walking, driving or the boat.

Having stayed there in the past I knew that the International Gateway had a severe disadvantage getting to Soarin' but our last trip they let us in about 10 minutes early and we got to Soarin' at the same time as everyone else. Not this trip.

I totally understand your point! I would think that Disney could find a way to have guests be at the rope drop at the same time. :confused3 This doesn't seem like a difficult issue for them to solve.
