I'll be staying at BCV and BWV in May and was wondering how morning EMH at Epcot works since you enter the park from the IG. Where do they make you wait? It seems to me there's no way to make it all the way from IG to the middle of FW in time to accomplish much of anything. OTOH, if they hold you on the bridge to FW, it might work out okay, although it's still much further to Soarin' from there than it is from the main entrance! :confused3 Has anyone tried it?

My experience entering through the IG is that they let you through at the same time the front entrace is opening. I don't recall ever being allowed to enter part way. In terms of walking from the IG to the front, it does take a few extra minutes, but I still think it's much faster than having to wait in line at the front.

It's certainly a horrible race to Soarin'. I think it's unfair that entrance doesn't get a head start over the front but oh well. Bring your walking shoes!

if i remember they hold you back by england..when you get thru run like heck to soarn :thumbsup2

If entering through IG on an EMH they will hold you around the England area. I still wish they would extend it to at least the McDonald's but what can you do.:confused3

And there's the rub! I'm too old to run, plus I have short legs and thus a short stride, so I can't even walk as fast as most adults :rotfl:

Maybe I should consider taking a cab to the main entrance. Does anyone know how long that would take?

If you are there for rope drop don't be concerned. Yes there are many that run but I myself don't either as I'm middle age myself and have asthma so I do the best I can and we still are able to walk onto Soarin. Matter of fact the first thing we do is get the fastpass and then get on line and it's not a long wait. Besides, I've got the fastpass so I can go again.:thumbsup2

I don't believe you are let through the gates at all (even to England) until the opening time. You can still get to Soarin' pretty quickly such that there is not much of a line.

As for this not being "fair", it may not be (although "fairness" seems to be an odd concept to use in this situation). That being said, there are lots of other advantages from being able to enter Epcot from the IG - are we going to equal all those out as well?

Since I've never stayed in a Epcot resort before, I'm not sure what the advantages are to the IG entrance :confused3

My strategy would be to just go to the front entrance for EMH.

I stayed at the Boardwalk in 06 and entered through IG for EMH and ended up in a long line for Soarin'. This year, we just went ahead and drove over to the front and were able to do Soarin', Mission Space and Test Track before 9 AM.

If you entered through the main entrance and are in the park for rope drop, they don't allow you to run to your first destination. CMs from each of the popular Future World pavilions are there waiting for you, and when the rope drops, you must remain behind the CMs heading for that attraction -- you can't run ahead of them. They walk briskly, but they don't run.

There's always been such a long line at the front entrance that I found entering at IG to be much easier.

It really isn't all that bad entering from the IG. I have always been held at the turnstyles until the park opened, but it could be different on other occasions. With no one trying to walk in the opposite direction from you, it is much easier to get to Soarin'. Just cut through the Rose Garden area. We have generally gotten there in the first wave of people from the front gates. They have CMs walking in front of them keeping them to a more sedate pace, rather than a race walking pace.

I usually go in and get a fastpass for soarin first thing. That way I do not have to worry about runnning. Then I see other things. That way you have an early fastfass and see other things without lines early in the AM.:goodvibes
