Staying at YC. DS loves to take monorail. We enter Epcot at IG, walk to front of park, hop on the monorail, transfer at TCC and then go to what ever resort we wish for dinner. In the past we only had one security transfer. Is that still the case or is there now two?

Also, if take a bus to MK do we then have to go through security if we get on the resort monorail to go to a MK resort?

Thanks - trying to plan out time allocation for dinners during our next trip

By my understanding, you'd go through security at the IG and then not have to enter security again until you leave whichever MK resort you are going to.

As for the second question, I don't believe there is a security checkpoint to get on the monorail from the MK. However, you would go through a security check after leaving the bus before you can walk to the monorail.

If you enter through IG, walk through EP, get on the monorail and then go to MK, yes, you will have to go through security twice.

You could also get out at the TTC and walk to Polynesian or Grand Floridian, if you were eating at either of those hotels.

When going to a MK resort via the Epcot monorail, you'll only be screened when you enter at the IG. You won't be screened again until you get back on the monorail at whatever resort you visit.

If you come back the same way, unfortunately you'd be screened twice - once at the MK resort when you get on the monorail, then again when going into Epcot at the main entrance. Unfortunately the Epcot monorail exit dumps you out in a non-secured area so you have to be screened again.

If you take the bus to MK, you'll go through security once you get off the bus - they funnel all the bus folks into one spot. Once through you can go get on the resort monorail without any additional security check.

The whole setup is totally different now, in a really good way in my opinion.

Agreed - all for security. I guess if lines are more efficient then not a big deal to go through security 3/4(?) times in an hour to grab dinner but worried about time it all takes - stroller, small diaper bag, etc.

Usually go into MK after dinner so that security point is great. Just the getting to dinner...

MK, to monorail, transfer to TTC, monorail to Epcot is still just one security check point?

For some reason I am having a hard time wrapping my head around the new protocol.

Your mileage may vary but my trip two weeks ago was a GF/CR split and we did a lot of monorail/resort hopping. I never had any material wait at the resort monorail security checks. We had a stroller and a bag or two, most of the time. It was all pretty easy.

Not quite sure the situation you're describing in the "just one security check point" question... are you saying you're at MK, take resort monorail to TTC, transfer to Epcot? You'd be screened at Epcot in that instance. You would have also been screened earlier when you got to MK originally. Sorry if I'm not understanding what you're saying.

yes, you understood. Thank you. Leaving MK going back to YC via Epcot monorail.

Ok, so yeah - just one security screening - when you get off the Epcot monorail before going into Epcot main entrance. :-)
