Epcot RD - Soarin or Test Track first??

Frankly in this scenario I'd choose one of the two and skip the other unless the standby line is unusually short. We do 9 - 10 day trips so there are 2 days for each park with time left over. This Nov our grand kids will FP to Frozen so we'll be in this boat at lease once.

Why skip? It's perfectly possible to ride both early, especially with the third theater at Soarin'

OP: Test Track, then Soarin'

Very common question and certainly debate about it. My opinion, definitely Test Track. Standby backs up much faster than on Soarin'. The third theater in Soarin' has really helped.

How much do you care about doing the build your own car or riding together at Test Track? If that's priority to you, then do it first. FP/single rider at TT skips the full blow build your own car and you can only pick from templates. Soarin will handle the crowds pretty well for the first hour. Still a wait, but definitely not an hour+.

We enter through the IG, a FP in hand for one of the 2, we walk on whichever one we don't have one for. Usually by the time we finish the walk on and head for the other the standby line there is beyond our comfort zone. Anything over 30 mins and we find something else to do.

On our trip, the ride I most wanted to go on was Soarin'. The line I wanted least to wait in was Frozen. Our strategy? We got a FP for Frozen in the early afternoon, we rope dropped Test Track, then made our way over to Soarin' immediately after that. This worked very well for us as Test Track lines get long rather quickly, whereas Soarin' doesn't get backed up until later in the morning. After doing Soarin' we liked it so much we got right back in line and rode it a second time. We didn't have to wait more than 10 minutes for either time. :)

Test track standby usually has much longer waits than Soarin. But if your party can split up, TT had single rider line.

On our Frozen FP day, we rode Soarin right at RD x2, than headed over to TT, which we rode single rider line. Single rider line was a 10 minute wait, regular standby was 40 minutes. We rode single rider x2 with about a 10 minute wait each time. We headed to mission space next, we had a mix of green team and orange team in our party and the green team (less thrill seeking side, not sure if I have my colors right) had a wait of about 20 minutes. Orange team wait was 10 minutes.

Because we use the single rider line at TT we almost always do Soarin first and then go to TT. The single rider line usually doesn't take too long in that first 30 minutes (sometimes we walk right on) and when we're done we are right there to ride Mission Space with a short wait.

pick the ride you want the most. then go to the next one and if the line is longer than its worth to you, skip it.

We have FP for Frozen so want to hit both of these at rope drop. Which should we do first?? Thanks!

My family always runs to Soarin first and then does Test Track as single riders. It helps that we are all 20+

Thanks everyone. Soarin is most important to ride but never have rode Test Track so wanted to try it this time also. Only one day at Epcot. Youngest is 6 so can't do single rider. I thought better to hit TT first with the extra theater in Soarin but wanted to have confirmation. Lol! Frozen FP is a must cause it's the #1 thing on DD list to do. Thanks!!!

Are you spending the whole day at Epcot? I actually prefer doing TT at night, outside loop is cool when you can see the park lit up.

This is like the eternal question. Like Chocolate or Vanilla.

I would choose Test Track and it seems to move slower. Though when I tried this plan on my last trip Test Track was down at Rope Drop for like an hour+ and that almost threw off our plans as we had to wait in a 45+ minute standby when it came back up and ended up getting to our Soaring Fast Pass 10-15 minutes late (but were still allowed on).

Disney really needs to just simply get more attractions at Epcot so they can do away with the Tiering system. It is awful at Epcot since there are really only those 3 attractions that are worth a FP in the first place. I mean, does "The Seas: with Nemo and Friends" even count as a ride? It is pretty much just a riding queue to get into the building, yet people can "waste" a FP on it.

I wonder if the Tiering system will pop up in AK soon with Pandora (as it seems like EVERYONE (for a LONG while) will be trying to book 2 of their 3 fast passes for the new rides. I also wonder if all the new attractions in Hollywood Studios will the tiering system go away there.
