Epcot Photo session question

Hi everyone

My hubby and I have a trip quickly approaching to Disney World to celebrate our 8th anniversary! Originally we had an Epcot photo session scheduled. I had hair/makup scheduled, found a nice suit for hubby to wear, started looking at dresses for myself, etc!

Well, thanks to my VERY SLOW weight loss, I got sooo discouraged, and after about 1000 tears, finally told my sweet hubby to just cancel the whole thing! :headache: I just couldn't imagine staring at these pictures, feeling like I had failed to reach my weight loss goal. So even though he didn't really agree with my thinking, he called and canceled our session.

Later that day we went to the bridal store to figure out a way to use up a store credit, thanks to my change of heart. Well on a whim my dh finally convinced me to "just try on a few more dresses". Keep in mind, a few weeks earlier, I had already tried on nearly the whole store (in the bridesmaid/evening gown section). I was so discouraged by that experience and my slow progress, that this is why I canceled our photos to begin with! So trying on the dresses..again...made NO sense to me! :sad2: But I threw caution to the wind and tried 3 dresses on, 2 of which I had tried on before. The first one I came out in was new for both of us, and the moment I came out my dear hubby took a step back and let out a little gasp. He literally gushed over me in this dress. When I took my first peak in the mirror, I fell in love with it. It's a beautiful dark purple color...and even though I'm not quite where I was hoping to be in my weight loss journey, I still felt comfortable in it.

Well the next day dh called up the Disney photo people and told them that things have changed and they quickly put us right back on the schedule for an Epcot shoot - no questions asked :woohoo: Sooo...after all of this, we have both decided to just go - get the pics done and hope for the best! I guess the worst that can happen is all the pics turn out horrible and we hide them under our bed and don't pull them back out until we are like 90 :rolleyes1 But hopefully there will be atleast a few that I end up liking! lol We were just afraid that we would regret not doing it, since the chance of us going on another kid-free vacation is slim to none.

Anyway, with this being said - if you have done a photoshoot in Epcot - what did you think? I know our situation is different since I won't be standing there in a beautiful white wedding gown (:sad1:), but overall how was your experience? How will we know who will be our photographer? Is there any way to request someone in particular? If so, do you all have any suggestions on who to request? How long do these photo sessions last?

Thanks SO much for your help! And thanks for listening to me rant - the last few months I have felt like an emotional mess - this losing weight business is for the birds :rolleyes1 Oh well..hopefully in another few months I will be at (or at least close to) my goal.

Looking forward to hearing from you wonderful gals!!

I had an Epcot photo session, and I had an absolutely wonderful experience! I had Regina for photography, and she took some stunning photos.

And as for your weight: don't worry about it! At all! I am, well, not exactly my ideal weight (by a LONG shot) but I love every single one of my pictures.

On that note, start thinking about what countries you want pictures in! We took them in Italy, France, Morocco, and Japan. I think Italy and France are the most romantical. :goodvibes Can't wait to see your shots!

I agree with Jackie! I had my engagement photos in Epcot with Regina. They are amazing! Definitely go for it!

DF and I did an Epcot engagement photo shoot. We, alas, did NOT get Regina and we were SOOOOOOOOOOO.... OOOOOOOO.... OOOOOOO disappointed with out pictures.
Without giving you a sob story, we took the pics with Ty. He was moderately nice, but barely talked to us. I felt uncomfortable the entire time, and he gave us no direction on what to do how how to stand. The pics were horrible! AND... that was back in August, we are STILL waiting for our album. I've called and called the studio to see where our album is, and honestly, I've gotten this twice, "who are you?":mad:
I loved the idea of getting pictures in Epcot, and I still do, but warning, if you do, good luck with getting Regina.
(sorry to be such a downer.)
Because of our experience DF and I refuse to go with Disney for our photos. We just couldn't stand not knowing who was going be taking our pics. I really really really really really hope your experience is better than ours. I don't wish that on anyone.
