Does any one ever do this - know how many stamps there are to find? Is it easy enough? Do you just go up to any cast member and each country? HELP? :jumping1:

Kids may initially think World Showcase is going to be a big snooze for them, but you can encourage their active participation in learning about the various countries by getting them a World Showcase Passport. The passports are sold for $9.95 at most stores and carts throughout Epcot, and include a set of country stamps and a big "I'm a World Showcase Traveler" button. As you visit the WS pavilions, your child can have Cast Members at the KIDCOT stations (see description following) stamp the passport and write something in his/her native language.

each country has its own stamp and they write little things in your passport. There are special places in each country called "Kidcot Fun Stop". You can look on your park map or ask a cast member where they are. If you dont want to spend the money on the passports you can create a mask and bring it around to every country for free. They stamp it and put a paper charm on that has to do with each country. :flower:

I kind of want to do the whole passport thing (I'm really big on learning stuff about other countries and travelling and the like nad I think it's make an AWESOME souvenir :cool1: ) but would I look stupid doing it as a 16 year old girl :earsgirl: ? :confused3 I really think I'd enjoy it but much less so if I were to be kind of pointed at and laughed at. Any comments are totally appreciated!

we did the mask last time :teeth:

Do you think the pasport is worth it? about how many stamps would you get?
Definately worth it. I still have mine from 85'. Each year we get a new one for DD. She loves finding the Kidcot Fun Stops and asking for her stamp. There are also stickers for each country that comes w/ the passport that your kids put in the book. As for how many stamps you get... you get one stamp from each country in the WS. They also write your childs name in their language and sometimes a little note. Lots of fun. Just be sure to write (in English) what it says so you don't forget.

We never did the passport but it sounds like a fun idea. Are the stamps given only at the Kidcot stations?

:flower:

Briar Rose I don't think anyone will laugh and point. Heck I enjoy it as much as DD and I'm twice your---I mean just a few years older than you :rotfl:

We bought the passport last time and plan to again this year. We enjoyed speaking to all the cast members and trying to learn a few phrases in their native language. I think the stamp is only at the Kidcot stop but feel free to talk to anyone in the stores or restaurants, we found them all to be friendly and happy to tell you about their country. :flower:

LOL! Thanks SOOO much for the encouragement undertheseas :goodvibes I really appreciate it :) Now I just have to convince my Mum to do it with me *evil grin* lol!

Im 15 and i did it this yr. I see adults doin it 2. no one will point and laugh

You go right ahead. My 13 yo dd, who is as set as anyone on being cool at home, begged me to get her an Alice in Wonderland dress to wear when we go to WDW next month. I love it when you kids go against the pressure and have fun. You are, after all, still children! Enjoy it!!!! :flower:

Lol thanks for the kind words Hsminnie. I'm pretty sure I'm gonna get the the passport and PROUDLY wear that button now :)

I think the Passport is one of the best things in WDW. My DS loved it at 11 & so did I. I wish he would want to do it again, but he figures he did it once & that enough. He is almost 17 & is really not interested in it again.

Briar Rose, if you are interested in it, I think you should go for it. No one will point & laugh or anything. I have seen teens & adults doing it too. In fact, when I go alone, I may do it myself & I am a very cool 40 :smooth: lol

Wow. this was great to read. I have two boys 10 and 12 and I was afraid they would think this wasn't cool. :earboy2:

We did it with DS. I think any age person could and should do ANYTHING they want when visiting WDW. Be a kid again it's okay,Mickey wants you to.

I remeber doing it last time I was in Epcot (about 11yrs ago) and I plan on doing it this time, and seeing if my wife will join in, we're 25 and 24

Why not Enjoy yourself its Disney :hyper:

*UPDATE*

The DW said that she will be joining me in doing the Passport thing :love2:

I'm almost 24, and I did it a few years back on my last trip to WDW, so it's not just for kids! It's a great way to ensure that you don't miss any of the countries. Plus, they don't just have the CMs standing out in front. Often, you actually have to go inside some of the buildings, etc., to find one to stamp your passport, so you're forced to slow down and explore the countries, one by one, if you want to get a complete passport. As if I need another excuse to look around and shop :rotfl: I think I might do it again when I return in (checks counter) 20 days!

my kids are really looking forward to doing it, but I must confess, one of the reasons I told them about it is because I wanted to do it.
