Hi,

I wondered what kind of ink they use on the WS stamps. I have never bought the passport - we just use the masks so it's kind of hard to tell. I was thinking of making a passport in a matt finish, small photobook, but I dont know if the CMs will be able to stamp it. Also, what size? 6x4 or 5x7? I don't want it too big, but it does need to be practical.

Thanks for your help.

I was wonder the same thing about the size of the passport. I'm making them for my kids and wasn't sure which size to make! Also, how big of a spot should I leave for the stamp?:confused3

The stamps are just over an inch in diameter so not too much space required. I am going to use the ones from Natalie's designs which I think are beautiful :thumbsup2 She has a page for each country with space dedicated to the stamp.

The actual official passports are pretty small. I just don't know if I want to allow space for extra things in it. But then we have a journal and an autograph book so I was thinking 6x4 would be fine. Just worried about the ink from the stamp. I know I can print it on card stock, but I want it nicely bound and can't be bothered to bind it myself. :guilty:

It would be best if you printed them on card stock. The stamps don't adhere well to photo paper. 4x6 is a good size, but I don't think you would want to make it any better. It's really easy to get it bound. You can take it to any FedEx/Kinkos store or office supply store and they will bind it for you with or without a clear cover. :goodvibes

2Tiggies, the way I did mine was download DONATALIES passport that I liked and printed it on cardstock. I then mounted each country on a larger piece of black cardstock. I am taking these pages with me (unbound) to have stamped in each country. I am also planning on getting DS and my picture taken with a CM from each country or just a picture in the country and will put that picture beside the stamp when we return home. I hope I explain easily how this would work. I will actually put our picture on the BACK of another country's stamp page so you can just flip through the book. Does that make sense? We leave next Saturday, so I will post it when we get back. I may do the cover and back on chipboard to make it more sturdy. I will have the completed passport book bound when I finish putting pictures in. Hope this helps and I didn't confuse you too terribly much!

Oh that's a great idea. I never even thought about having it bound when I got back! :thumbsup2 You explained beautifully :goodvibes and that sounds a whole lot easier than what I had in mind!

I have seen lots of people getting there passports printed at artscow and shutterfly. I have uploaded mine to shutterfly and waiting to do the covers to have them printed. So are you saying the stamps wont go well on this type of book? Has anyone else had this problem?

Wondering this also? Will the stamps work on a shutterfly photo book?

I did my passport as a photobook. I didn't opt for premium glossy pages, but they do have a slight sheen on them. Most of the stamps were fine although 2 or 3 of the countries had to stamp twice to get it to show on the paper. I didn't use shutterfly so I can't speak specifically for that, but photobooks are pretty similar when it comes to paper. I was quite happy with it though.

You're welcome :goodvibes

If you have gone to all the trouble of working on the photobook, just go ahead and print it. The cast members have dealt with this before and none of my stamps smudged so nothing was ruined. I used CD markers for them to write with as they are not as thick as the Sharpies and it came out great. If it helps you with your decision, I am going to make another one as a photobook again for next year.

I love the idea of the unbound cards suggested above, but the way we carried our things around in a tiny backpack I think I might have ruined them. My photobooks were hard covers for a reason :lmao:

Enjoy finishing it off. :)
