Has anyone used or seen an Epcot Passport book? I think my DD-9 would like to do this, but I would like to see it. Please post a picture if you have one...or just describe. Would I be better off to just make one? Thanks!

We have let our DD9 get them the last couple of times that we went to WDW. I don't have a picture but I'll try to explain it the best I can.

It looks like a passport, and has stickers that you or the children can place in the country that they go in.

You go to the passport area in each country at Epcot and they have a station where CMs stamp the passport and usually write something personal for the child in the native language.

Our DD really enjoyed it and says she wants to do it again this year.

Hope this helps, enjoy your trip

Here it is.

You would be able to make one easily (and cheaply) but I don't think it would have the "zing" of the one sold at Epcot! "Gold" embossed lettering, stickers of each country, etc. make it really special. This is one souvenir I consider money well spent.

DD had done this a few times. The last time we bought one (2004) for her and her best friend. The had a riot going to each place. They were DD11 and DDbestfriend13. We would let them go ahead to the following country so that they could get it done before we got there. They didn't ask for one this past trip in 2005. Who knows, she may ask for one this time. :thumbsup2

When they first came out, my DDs loved them - and the CMs had great fun filling them out, including personal messages to the girls. Lately, it seems the KidCot stations have overun the Passport spots, making it difficult to even get the CMs to stamp the darn things, since the kids at the craft tables use the stamp on their little crafts. The "no, I'm using that" got to me after the third country...

If you have the time to wait patiently for the one CM to do all the crafts and signing and stamping, then go for it. It's a great souvenir, and my kids used to love doing it.

Here are a couple of photos of the passport book. When you buy the passport, you also receive a large button (pin) which you can see in Feralpeg's photo.

My kids loved having these filled out! The first time that we went my oldest two were 7 and 4, and we bought the passports so that they would have something to keep them motivated to get to all of the countries. We didn't realize that each country also had a Kidcot stop with projects, but they really enjoyed the passports, too. Each CM was so nice about writing something a little different in the book. We went again two years ago, and all three kids (then 13, 11, and 5) wanted their own passports. They also did the Kidcot mask project (free) at each country.

We were at Disney last week and my S8 and D5 both loved the Passports and the Mask projects (Kidcot) in the countries of Epcot. They seemed to have combined the areas into one area. They castmembers were more then willing to sign the passports and even included special birthday greetings in the different languages for my daughter. They stamped the passport and the stick for the mask and added the paper "Charm" for each country to the mask which is available in all the countries. All of the gift shops in Epcot sell the passport packages for $9.95 each.

Another item the kids loved was collecting the press pennies in each country and throughout all the parks. They cost $0.51 each and they sell books to hold the pennies in all the shops with the machines for about $6. You can get a complete listing of all the machines from guest services.

I was also wondering if my DD8 and DS6 would like to do this. Thanks everyone for such positive experiences and the great pictures.

:cool1:
