Hi. :wave2: Our family DH, DD7, DS5 and myself are going for a 3 day trip and are trying to decide which would be better for us to see at Christmas time. Kids have never been to Epcot, so was leaning toward that, but wondering for holiday time which you prefer.

Also, if we do go to Epcot, would CP be appropriate for kids? And where is the best spot to see Illuminations? What restaurant might you recommend for dinner? I haven't been to Epcot for about 10 years.

We are spending our other time at MVMCP and MK. :wizard:

I much prefer Epcot. Having said that, the Osbounre lights are special at Xmas.

My vote definetely goes to Epcot. I think the Candlelight Processional is appropriate for kids. There are also beautiful decorations everywhere and each country has a storyteller to tell about that country's holiday traditions. MGM is nice with the Osbourne Family Spectacle of Lights, but thats about as far as the holiday feeling goes. Dh and I are actually doing the same thing by going to MVMCP one night and Epcot one day. Hope you guys have a wonderful trip!

This is the first time that we are going this time of year. From what I gathered, I'd go with MGM.

This is why: Your kids ages, The osborne Familly of Lights. Million or so lights that now dance. Those are on display nightly from 6pm-8pm. MGM also has the parade.

The CP I chose to skip this year. My kids are 10, 8, and 2, and I didn't think they'd be into that.

If your children like fireworks, go to EPCOT and stay for IllumiNations. During the Holiday season, there is a special "Holiday Tag" to IllumiNations that is just awesome! We stay at the BWV and can feel the vibrations from the explosions in our room!

EPCOT also has a nightly tree lighting at approximately 6 PM. They light the tree and turn on the "Lights of Winter" (Dancing lights on the special arch) - this is in the area between Future World and the World Showcase.

As alrady mentioned, each country has something special for its holiday traditions. Lots of different "Santas" as well as other interesting traditions.

The Candlelight Processional - a celebrity retells the Christmas story with the help of a mass choir and the DIsney Orchestra, is very beautiful. It can be tough to get into unless you buy the Dinner Package.

Kids seem to especially enjoy the character meals at the Garden Grill (the Land in Future World) and the Akerhaus (Norway princess meal), the Coral Reef (aquarium view in the restaurant), the Biergarten (show) or the Belly Dancer at Marrakesh (Morrocoo).

Get ready to have a wonderful day!

If you'll be there 3 days, why can't you go to MGM and Epcot? If you're going to only 1 park per day, Animal Kingdom is the one I would skip at holiday time.

**OK - I see you're doing MK and MVMCP. With only 3 days, I wouldn't do 2 days at the MK. I'd go to the Christmas party, MGM and Epcot.

Thanks for advice, but we're actually doing only MVMCP on our 2nd day and MK the whole day the 3rd. We only have 2 park days left from our last trip and don't want to buy more til next time. :)

I agree with most of the posters here, Epcot would probably be your best bet.

If I were taking children to the CP, however, I would recommend going to the first performance of the evening, as children tend to get antsy, restless, and bored during the somwhat lenghty presentation, especially if the kids are tired or sleepy.

Enjoy.

NO QUESTION... EPCOT!!

Santas of the world, candlelight processional, international decorations, I even like to hear the American Singers do the carols at the US pavilion.

If you haven't been to Epcot in ten years...well thats too long.
