Epcot Opening

Hi.

Can somebody please tell me how Epcot current Entry works?
When I was there last Nov, the gates opened up at 8: 45 am and they let you go pass Spaceship earth, but then you had to wait for the rope drop at 9 am?

Do they still do this or do they not let you into the park until 9 am like they used to do?

Last week they let us up to Spaceship Earth and brought the character bus and Soarin cast up for an opening ceremony of sorts at 9, then dropped the rope and let us in. At the International Gateway, the rope is where the path from the turnstiles meets the main path between the UK and France.
