Is there that much in the way of special stuff at the Mexico pavillion on Cinco de Mayo? I'm trying to work out my touring plan and 5/5 is either going to be Epcot or AK and 5/6 will be the other. 5/6 is going to be a short day for AK, the park closes at 6. This might mean more people are like me and will avoid going to AK that day... If they do we'll be able to do everything we want to do pretty quickly. In fact, looking at the tour plan I've made that doesn't even include any fast passes we should be able to do everything we want. However, if we do AK 5/5 we get 3 more hours of park time.

So...Epcot on Cinco de Mayo. Taking into account my husband's favorite food type is Mexican and this entire trip is for his 50th birthday and so catering to his interests is the most important thing, is celebrating Cinco de Mayo at Epcot the way to go?

Not really. Some DS restaurants will have special menu items but I don’t remember there being anything special at Epcot, just more people than usual crowding the tequila cave.

Cinco de Mayo is a more an American beer company thing anyway tbh.

Cinco de Mayo isn't really a Mexican holiday celebrated all that much by Mexicans. It has become a party holiday for Americans. They don't do anything special at the Mexico pavilion but you will find people gravitating to the tequila bar and margarita stand
