Epcot has two shows on NYE. Do they do the NYE fireworks at both shows or only the late one?
I’d love to take our DGS to the early one for the special fireworks but no way can he make it until late ones! Thank you!
who knows what they do now that they have this new show but with Illuminations, the NYE fireworks were I believe the same as the regular holiday fireworks, which was regular Illuminations + the holiday tag. Half wondering if they won't just tack on the old tag to the new show but we won't know til they start the holiday stuff. I don't believe there is anything special on NYE above and beyond but it has been like 19 years since i've been at Epcot for NYE - last time was 2000-2001.
The early show has the holiday tag. The late show has the NYE countdown tag. They also celebrate NYE when each "country" hits midnight in their time zone.
Epcot NYE is my favorite, but you definitely need to be there late at night to get the full experience.
However, the Magic Kingdom fireworks do the NYE tag during both the early and late shows.

Thank you!! We are planning to do MK on 12/30 and Epcot 12/31. I’m sure DGS will be satisfied with most anything at 2 1/2 even if he misses the NYE countdown. Epcot sounds like a fun environment! Maybe grandparents will sneak back out for all the festivities since he will be with his parents.
Yes, 100%. They do fireworks for all of the countries that have already celebrated New Years, then do the countdown for the US, Mexico, and Canada, and then basically light off every firework they have.

The holiday tag ending to the earlier epcot fireworks are great, but the NYE tag ending to the later fireworks are even more amazing! They blow off so many fireworks during the finales! The later fireworks (midnight) are really cool as they light up each pavilion in WS to celebrate their New Year. Definitely worth seeing IMO. Crowds are pretty sane, though.
MK will have the NYE countdown ending for both the 6:30 and 11:50pm fireworks on 12/30 and 12/31. Lots of dance parties going on too.

I would suggest getting the dessert party at the MK for 12/30. The food's not all that great, but you can't beat a comfortable place to watch the fireworks surrounded by a mass of humanity.

Assuming they have one, has Epcot released a NYE dessert party or are they changing things because of Epcot Forever? I didn’t see any dates past November for the Frozen Ever After party.
