Hi, everyone. Just joined the boards here. These look great and so much info. WOW!! We are planning just a short side trip to Disney and want to go to EPCOT, World Showcase and MGM. Also, of course, Circue du Soleil. In your expert opinions, can you tell me what is the best restaurant to eat at in both parks? We will be there 9/10 - 9/12. Thanks so much.

I actually prefer the restaurants between the two parks on the Boardwalk. We had a great meal at Spoodles in April and we usually dine at Flying Fish also. Flying Fish is pricey, but the food is terrific. I love the potato encrusted Red Fish. We also really enjoy the Cape May Clam Bake which is really a buffet. There is so much there to choose from even for non seafood lovers.

In Epcot we did enjoy our meal at Rose and Crown in England. We've had both lunch and dinner at Chefs de France and enjoyed lunch more. We rarely eat at MGM but I did enjoy Mama Melrose several years ago.

My favourite restaurant in MGM is Brown Derby. It is such an elegant restaurant and the food is wonderful.

Epcot is a little more difficult because there are so many wonderful restaurants there. If I had to limit it to three I would have to say Le Cellier in Canada, Restaurant Akershus in Norway and Chefs De France in France.

At MGM we love sci-fi. The food is good by the atmosphere is what really makes this place special.

At Epcot we enjoyed Rose & Crown and Marakesh (make sure to get a seat on the main floor to see the show, it really makes the dinner more fun)

Is it just adults? Well, we love the Garden Grill in the Land pavilion. It has Mickey and Chip and Dale - but the food is great. The restaurant revolves (very slowly - you don't feel it) and you see images from the Land boat ride.

If you don't go for characters, then I'd second the Rose and Crown, although LeCellier gets good reviews (I have not eaten at LeCellier).

We just do counter service at MGM.

We enjoy Mama Melrose at MGM as well as Brown Derby. Chefs de France, Rose & Crown and Le Cellier are spots we enjoy in Epcot.

Kemi - can you tell us a little bit more about your party? Just adults or kids, too? What kind of food do you like? Looking for a peaceful sit-down meal or a (high quality) 5 minute cheeseburger?

Why sure, MHopkins2. It is just me and my DH, kids arre grown. We like sit-down dinners and not real noisy places. As I said, we are only going to EPCOT, MGM (mainly for the Fantasmic show) and World Showcase. Thanks for your help.

I'm with jx3smom: I like the Boardwalk restaurants. It is just a short walk from either park to any of these: Spoodles is excellent. Flying Fish is good. You might also try The Yachtsman at the YC/BC.

But if you want to stay in the parks. At Epcot San Angel Inn in Mexico (it's not too quite though). At MGM we like Mama Melrose. You might also try 50s Prime Time or Sci-Fi (neither of these are very quite either). At DTD there is a Wolfgang Puck's and House of Blues.

For grown-ups only and (relatively - it's WDW :) ) quiet sit-downs, I would vote for Bistro de Paris (Epcot - it's the upstairs restaurant in the France pavilion) and Hollywood Brown Derby (Studios). Restaurant Marrakesh (Epcot) is also excellent (and usually more than half empty), but if you're there during the belly-dancing, it doesn't qualify as quiet.

I'm not personally a fan of the Boardwalk restaurants, but YMMV.

Palio at the Swan (quick walk from Epcot or boat ride from the Studios) serves *excellent* Italian food and is a good bet for a quiet, semi-dark dinner.

For all of these suggestions, to minimize munchkins and noise, try to go late rather than early.
