Just what is going on with that? The last time we went to San Angel, the menu had changed drastically from what appears on wdwinfo. We didn't even stay because there was nothing on the menu that sounded good. We used to love that place. But we haven't been there lately. Aren't they redesigning it or something? And the outside cantina. So is there no where to get Mexican food at Epcot now?

From what Im hearing the menu has changed for the better, we went in 2008 and it was horrible, no side items or anything..

There is a temp kiosk outside that serves CS Mexican..'

New CS and TS will open up in Sept, that is in addition to San Angel

We loved the margaritas, the sirloin relleno and the pollo a las rajas, and would gladly go back to enjoy these dishes again; they were absolutely wonderful. The chips and salsa are fresh, homemade and delicious. Everything else we tried was good. You're right, the menu is a little limited, though, and it's not what most Americans consider "mexican" like nachos and tacos (though you can find those outside I believe). The offerings are more mexico-city style at San Angel. If you're intersted, follow the link in my signature to my dining report, I have a full review of our meal there from late July.

San Angel Inn (inside the Mexico pavilion) is open.

The Cantina de San Angel is currently closed. The building was torn down and rebuilt into a larger building which will hold the new, redesigned CS Cantina AND a new TS restaurant (Hacienda de San Angel) which will be open for dinner only.

When the new complex opens in September (there is no specific date but it appears to be opening sometime in mid to late September) Mexico will have three restaurants (two TS and one CS) and a lounge.

There is currently a temporary CS set up at Mexico with a limited CS menu.

I like all Mexican food, from authentic tacquerias, through Taco Bell, and I have always found Disney Mexican food to be tasty!

The Cantina was my absolute fav counter service in the World before the menu change. We threw away our food on our last visit, and I have NEVER done that before. It was disgusting. My fingers are crossed for something similar to the original menu in the new venue.

That combination platter was aces in my book.

We ate at San Angel in April and really enjoyed our food. Even Dh (a total food snob) thought it was delish. I do remember eating at the Cantina several years ago and thinking the food was just edible.

Ate at San Angel just last week. It was one of my favorite meals of the entire week!

One of our best meals..atmosphere was lovely, appeared mostly adult so not loud either ....rotfl2: (wonder if that was because of menu:confused3??) We had dinner....had a reservation we made that the morning before...Saw others getting walk ups but had to wait apparently.......
we had sirloin relleno and the pollo a las rajas and each of us really enjoyed the food. The Fresh chips and salsa they bring you upon entering was also delicious. I had the churro and skipped the hot chocolate and the churro was okay, not great, a bit too crispy.........the others skipped the dessert
Oh, the Mexican Beer is the dh favorite.....
we were there on 8/22

What did you have? Was it off a 1 page menu? All I remember from February was shrimp tacos and duck burritos, etc. And very expensive compared to what it used to be. I remember nothing under 22.00. And this was lunch. We used to split an order of nachos. They were really good. And then split an entre. This time the only thing I wanted to eat was the guacamole and chips. 6.00.

Is the tequila cave still there? It was our fave during our trip in Feb. We ate there twice even though we were on the dxdp! Great margs!

I had the Sopa Azteca and the Tostados de Tinga which is actually an appetizer. Same thing I get every time!
