Epcot meal recommendations

We are spending two days in Epcot. I am planning two meals there. (well I already booked the princess breakfast, but I am looking for two additional ideas). Anyway we are a family of 5-two adults/ 3 kids-9
5 and 2 . I have already booked the Beirgarten for Feb. 14th which I am not sure if that is a good choice (I am up for other suggestions for that day!) and have another day that I am not sure to do late lunch or early dinner . I am also looking for ideas for other dining options,I have already booked Crystal Palace for lunch, Ohana for dinner and the Luau one night which I am hearing horrible things about. We are staying at the Polynesian and have not lined up a character breakfast at Koha Cafe. So any help and suggestions is appreciated.

My kids 7 and 9 like the mexican restaurant at Epcot. They thought the Biergarten was ok, but we have been to Germany. The entertainment at the Biergarten is fun.

I also suggest the Coral Reef, and ask for a table next to the tank when you check in for your PS.

Stay with the Biergarten--it's wonderful. Lots of food selections on the buffet and fun entertainment. A great place for kids because they can get up and wander around without issue.
Most of the other countries have sit down meals so if you are looking for a complete change, there's always a good burger and fries at America or in the Electric Umbrella at Innoventions just before crossing over into EPCOT. The "boutique" options at the Land are good and healthful as well. Every member of the family can shop around for what they want and then all meet in the middle to eat together.
I don't know about your family, but when our kids were little, we could only do so many "fancier" spots. They liked to balance out with "normal" food when possible.

I wouldn't suggest the Luau either. our kids never enjoyed it. Ohanas is enough..truly the best the Poly has to offer for families (IMHO).
The Crystal Palace has great interaction with all of Pooh and his friends. We did that for several years. The food isn't quite what it once was, but the kids will enjoy having their own buffet to choose from.

My suggestion for a character breakfast is to do the MK Castle since you are only a monorail ride away. You can be more flexible with your PS times because you won't have to figure in any bus/car drive times. That is not to be missed--everyone should do it once. Have a Wonderful Time

I would give Rose & Crown Pub a chance in Epcot.

We did the Luau in 2002 & 2003 and loved it both times. I know it gets a lot of knocks but I think it is a very good show and the food is good also.

Thanks for the suggestions. I am pretty set on cancelling our luau and chef Mickey ress. because not one thing seems to be consistant to the postive for either!! I tried the MK castle but no go, all filled. I will try again for a cancellation, but wont be dissappointed. I also heard the Rose and Crown was a good choice, and the Japan restuarant seems good, my kids love the cooking at the table thing. We have a few around where we live, but I do like to try stuff we don't have here however. I will probably do the character breakfast at the hotel, I heard it is very good (Kona Cafe) and of course I am doing Ohana's for dinner, I heard they do alot of fun stuff for the kids. I still am not sure if there might be a better choice at Epcot for Valentines and do the Beirgarten later in the week? Augh the decisions are driving me nuts!! LOL

On our last trip in early Dec. we had dinner at the Rose and Crown, and it was the best meal we had on the entire trip. If you like Mushrooms, the Mushroom Medley Appetizer is the awesome. I had the pie sampler for the main course and it was great. The dessert sampler is also great. Plus you have the added advantage of possibly getting a balcony seat to watch Illuminations.

If you guys are sports enthusiasts, I would recommend the ESPN Zone over at the Boardwalk complex. Get there at 7:00pm and there will be a live interview (in the dinning room area) of a professional athlete and the budget is right!
