My kids have never really been to the world showcase.. So we wanted to take them around and really show it to them.

I have been struggling with my dining plans because we are oop. I don't want to spend $60 pp for dinner. So we are trying to find reasonable but Disney solutions.

Anyway for my epcot day.. I was having trouble finding openings for dinner. My kids (18, 13 & 9) can be picky with adventurous flavors. Normally we like dinner more than lunch. ...But thinking of switching it around

I'm thinking of eating a restaurant lunch. My questions are...who has a pretty good lunch.

Also...for dinner we were thinking of trying a small appetizer or snack from each country? Is this possible without reservations? We are thinking of having a few drinks and trying something from each pavilion....think it would be nice to let the kids try with smaller portions and fun for us too!

This is what we do instead of having lunch and dinner. We just get one or two things from a counter service location in each country and share it.

So it's pretty easy and you can do that with quick service restaurants? Hmmm maybe I will do a good breakfast instead .?

Fish N Chips - UK
Crepes and/or pastries - France
Schwarma, kefta, etc - Morroco
Brats etc - Germany

Mex, Italian, Japan, etc - more snacks

Oh yes.... U will not go hungry and it is so much fun snacking.

Ok..I'm getting excited. Sounds like that might be a fun way to try different foods

Go to allears.net and check out the menus for each Country QS restaurant. If you just want to snack aroung the World, Epcot is perfect! Also, all throughout WDW Parks there are QS restaurants that serve healthy potions so you can order one meal to split. Even when we are using the DDP we tend to split lunch.

We will probably mostly snack around the world this year, too. However, if you want to try a sit down that won't break the bank try Via Napoli. It's pizza like you've never tried before and if you order their biggest pizza and drink water you're still only out $41 + tip. Or if you think you want to try two pizzas or you all could eat 2 large pizzas it's still under $60 + tip for the whole table. You would pay about that much for all of you to eat an individual meal at a counter service.

I would second this motion for Via Napoli, whether for lunch or dinner. Might be one of the better bargains at WDW (let's just pretend there are bargains there!). For the rest of the day, as noted, there are plenty of interesting snack options around the world from almost every country around the lagoon. Definitely a great way to get the kids involved in knowing what countries are there, where they are, etc. I would suggest trying to get familiar with the countries and the quick service/cart offerings in advance, just so you'll know what you might want to be looking for. Looks like your kids are also old enough to do some of the research themselves, which might get them a little more excited about that day -- maybe let each of them pick a couple of things they want to try. Plenty of articles out there about "best Epcot snacks" that can give you a head start with some quick Googling.

Chefs de France lunch is good and isn't terribly expensive. Rose & Crown has some reasonably priced lunch entrees (only had dinner there though). For a counter service lunch, Les Halles in France is good (also a very good breakfast) and I really like the bratwurst at Sommerfest in Germany. Liberty Inn gets decent reviews though I've never eaten there.

Lotus Blossom Cafe for pot stickers and egg rolls. Can be shared by all. During non peak times, fish and chips in the UK - again, can be shared. Funnel cake in America. Again - shared by all. Crepes in France (the ice cream ones are to die for). Pastries in France and/or Norway.

And the best part? You can grab and go and all eat together. The outside Liberty Inn seating area is nice for that.

If you want a table service lunch, Biergarten in Germany. Yes, the band plays at lunch and it's a buffet

I'm a fan of Sunshine Seasons in The Land pavilion. They have unique offerings that should be able to satisfy any tastes.

Apple and brie sandwich in France from Les Halles was my oldests favorite (along with any pastry-think we tried them all lol); my sons hands down favorite though was the fish and chips in UK.
Lefse for me from Norway and a Blood Orange margherita from Mexico (inside).

Second Sunshine Seasons-lots and lots of options!

There are several good choices in Epcot. The last three trips, I have attempted to eat at La Cantina de San Angel and can not ever get there at a time that I can find a place for two people to sit. Last time, I got there at 11:10 and it was already full, maybe I should get in line at 10:30.

Well you all just helped me know snacking around the world is going to be fun! We aren't big breakfast eaters..But I know we will get hungry around lunch...bury I don't want too ruin my snacking appetite for later..lol

The best TS places for lunch are Les Chefs de France and Via Napoli in my opinion.

If you want a counter service, do Tangierine Cafe, Les Halles Boulangerie Patisserie, Katsura Grill, Yorkshire Fish & Chips, or Catina de San Angel.

If I were you I'd do Via Napoli or Chefs de France for lunch. Chefs is much cheaper, and Biergarten for dinner. Via Napoli is good but its not that hard to get really good pizza. Plus the pizza portions is not that big unless you get a Mezzo Metro for one person which is really expensive. I think its about $45. Do Chefs for lunch and Biergarten for dinner.

I know everyone loves Via Napoli...but I just don't get it. I can't imagine spending that much money for pizza. I guess if you never eat good pizza it would be worth it, but we have pizza every friday night. I think my dh would go on strike if I told him we were going to disney to eat $45 pizza. lolol

I will check the Chefs menu. Their menu looked interesting for dinner. I never thought about it for lunch.. I definitely want to snack around the world for dinner though

Via Napoli is good but a little overrated. People that are saying you can't get that good pizza anywhere else are somewhat idiots. You can get good pizza like that in most places that have a little italy, like NYC for cheaper. Go to Tutto Italia if you want an italian meal.
