Epcot Kidcot/Passport

What is this? Do you get some sort of book/check list (free?) somewhere in Epcot that the kids use to search for things? Did your kids like this and what are their ages?

The last time I bought one........they sell them in several of the stores in Epcot.....I believe it was around $10.00. Inside are stamps and stickers that you place on each countries pages in the passport, which looks like a real passport!! Then as you make your way around Epcot, stop at the Kid-Cot stations and someone will stamp your passport. The kids can also make a craft from that country. The past several years the kids have been making masks, and at each country something else is added to the mask.

An alternative to buying a Passport is to make a mask at the Kidcot stations. At the first country you go to, ask for a mask - it will be mounted on a stick you hold on to and have cutouts for eyes, etc. A dangly earring is attached at that first country, and at each subsequent country they hang another one on - they each have some connection to the country. Kids can decorate the mask w/ crayons and markers and generally turn them into a "work of art". My 9 yo DS enjoyed this!
Another suggestion is to have your child's autograph book signed by the person working Kidcot. They typically write a sentence or so in their language and sign it, which is pretty interesting - especially from a country that doesn't use "typical" english characters. We found the CM's working Kidcot to be VERY GOOD with children, sharing info about their country.

My DS's loved getting the passport when they were younger and doing to the kidcot spot around world showcase and doing the crafts. They also got the Epcot Dioscovery Guide which was free at the turnstiles of the park. I do not know if they still have these, but ask when entering. (They did not keep them out in plain site you had to ask for them) I know that they ran out a lot and did not have them all the time. It was a small activity book that had information about all the attractions in Epcot and in the center, it had a world map where the CM's in each country could stamp it and write hello in their native language.

My dd's(4&5) did the masks only last year and they loved it.. They both brought the masks in to school for show and tell. I have to say the girls being so young it helped to get them thru Epcot without any barganing.

And, just FYI, although the passports cost $10.00 each, letting the kids go to the Kidcot stations and make masks in free.
